So West Indies will rock up the quarter-final vs. NZ, win the toss, Gayle has one of his days, the hacks get lucky and their bowlers put pressure on our middle-order who are not used to it.

Unpleasantly possible. Although I think WI are likely to finish third, which would mean Aus or SL in their quarter-final.

Holy ***, his recent numbers are good  I just remember him being decidedly average in the NZ/India ODI series last year and going for over 7 an over IIRC.
I like Shami as a test bowler too, and haven't quite decided why he doesn't take more wickets.

Perhaps his own hype got to his head and stopped working hard who knows. Was certainly hyped to the max after the Windies series.

WI are putrid no doubt, but India are just consistently bowling amazingly this WC. ****ing great to see.

They are finishing third. They will restore the NRR in UAE game. 4th would be PAK/IRE

In the australian series he looked pretty jaded and also unfit.

2/5 off last 4 overs - that includes a couple of wides too. Mohit & RAshwin applying a chokehold here.

He had a couple of impressive opening spells in the tests, too. His problem is definitely fitness... Because after that opening spell, he came back totally gassed and sprayed it around. Doesn't get exposed in ODIs obviously because it's just 10 overs.
