Well they are kind of new. Ground remodelled and pitch re-aligned. Although that may be amost 10 years ago now.Lol @ people carrying on like the small boundaries at Eden Park are something new...They're not!
More ODIs (68) have been played there than any other NZ ground & there's only been 6 scores of more than 300, so small boundaries or not, it doesn't have a history of ridiculous scores at all. So talk of scores of 400 & about players getting double ton just shows ignorance.
Used to get rewarded for a leg glance or thick edge, now a maximum for the safest shot in the book is only 55 metres away. Edit: actually it's 55 metres plus 22 yards so need to clear about 75 metres for a straight 6. Ok, that's possibly better than the 50 metre leg glance of the old alignment. Now it's a 50 metre top edge or ramp that's the gimme.
