7th Match - Afghanistan v Bangladesh

I feel like even though afghaistan got taken to the cleaners in the powerplay this shows the merit of bowling full and straight at the death. Hope england is learning.

Both Shapoor and Ashraf, the best bowlers in the match and kept the pressure on BD by both taking wickets and controlling the run-rate, do not complete their overs. That is bad.

Good effort to rein in Bangladesh at the end. I'm largely unfamiliar with these sides - any chance of Afghanistan chasing down this total?

267.

BD should be able to defend this. Mortaza and Shakib should get 20 overs in for a few wickets and like 80 runs, it's just up to the rest to hold their nerve.

Probably fair to give it 70/30 in Bangladesh's favour here. Afghanistan aren't the greatest batting team but they have a few alright players.

Big boundaries will hurt them. Getting off to a flier against the Bangladeshi seamers would play a big part. I think Shakib may be too good through the middle.

Need to go hard at Rubel. Pace is all he has and he's not proper quick. Hassan and Zaldran (sic) would be quicker.

Btw I love how they field in a chaotic swarm. So great.

From what I remember of Afghanistan's batting in the last world cup, they suddenly bat very well on one of the days while performing terribly in other matches. Not much of a consistency there. Remember Shenwari and one more guy playing very well and getting 80s a couple of times last time after everyone had given up on their batting. If today is that day, then BD will find it tough.

Loving the Crowd Chants. This world cup is exceeding my expectations so far.

Also I have wanted to post this for a long time but could never find the right thread so this one will do the trick. Thanks very much Australia for partnering with us to host this world cup. Australia very easily could have gone it alone but they choose to be a good neighbour and let us join in.

Good teamwork from both cricketing governing bodies.

Really looking fwd to this run chase.

267 is just the kind of total that's never too far away if you can just keep wickets in hand.

Don't know much about the Afghan batting, but the stats suggest the likes of Mangal, Shenwari & Nabi aren't the worst.
