Like a cake without the icing; like a West Indies batting lineup without Chris Gayle and Devon Smith.I don't feel 'like a room without a roof', Williams. I don't know what feeling that's supposed to represent. Incomplete? Vulnerable to the elements?
The Indian bowling attack isn't strong at all when compared with the likes of Aust, SA, NZ & Eng...but to suggest this bunch of dibbly dobblers & handy spinners from Ireland are better than the likes of Ashwin, Jadeja, Kumar & Shami is stretching it a little.sounds like india, apart from the good at county cricket bit
below is a list of county standard indian bowlers

Yeah Ireland are definitely a well drilled team and a very good fielding team. Helps a lot, but they'll get in trouble against equally disciplined but higher skilled teams. Military medium and accurate darts won't slow down India or Australia. The thing is, the Irish bowl with discipline and are dogged. That's better than quite a few international teams.
I didn't expect to catch a nice fat kiwi trout when I cast my line off the Indian coast today. The Indian bowling attack isn't strong at all when compared with the likes of Aust, SA, NZ & Eng...but to suggest this bunch of dibbly dobblers & handy spinners from Ireland are better than the likes of Ashwin, Jadeja, Kumar & Shami is stretching it a little.
These are his good ones. Are the posts made by this Bleed Blue bloke always this crap?
Fixed that for youThe Indian bowling attack isn't strong at all when compared with the likes of Aust, SA, NZ & Eng...but to suggest this bunch of dibbly dobblers & handy spinners from Ireland are better than the likes of Kumar & Shami is stretching it a little.
I think 12 is too few. The Irish are showing today that they can challenge a "top 8" team, Scotland are in great form, Afghanistan have risen faster than anyone ever and the Dutch tend to be quite decent too. I think 14 is a good number.Huh, 5 matches in to the WC and the only two ones that have played like a contest have been the ones featuring minnows. Ok, maybe 14 teams is too many, but cutting the whole thing back to 10 is overkill. 12 strikes a nice balance, and addresses many of the current concerns about the length of the group stage and the ubiquity of boring mismatches (at least between established and minnow countries).
Yes perfect start from the defending champions yesterday nothing unfortunate about that! Anyway we are talking about minnows so I don't know why you have to talk about the World Champions!Unfortunately India won yesterday.
lol, I rate Jadeja & Ashwin.Fixed that for you
I like having a lot of teams involved but I agree with you. Ireland would have a fair chance of making the 10 from the qualifying tournament. As long as there is an open door and a defined path for qualification then I dont have a real issue with a 10 team event.Surely Ireland have a genuine chance of making the 10 teams by knocking either Bdesh or Zim out of the Qualifier?
TBH, another change of format wouldn't surprise me.
Ireland might coast this.Minnows or not. At least we're shaping up to see the first competitive game of what's been a fairly boring & one-sided WC to date.
