kek. Yearly? I must have missed them walking to the title any time since 2011.THIS IS YOUR YEARLY FOOTBALL THREAD SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE SAME ONE PERSON WHO SAYS CHELSEA AREN'T JUGGERNAUTS AND WON'T WALK THE LEAGUE TO NEVER FORGET THAT YOU'RE JUST WRONG
Thank you...
Mate I'd watch your back, the football thread hipster brigade will be on you for this post for suggesting anyone other than Courtois is the best keeper in the league this season. Also, they will definitely suggest you only watch English football and that you're a terrible person for it.Got a really good case to be footballer of the year.
My cousin (Arsenal fan) was saying "nah man, that's how Wenger's playing these big games". I was like "nah man, you're just getting pumped".Watching the derby right now (20 mins to go); where did our possession football go? This is horrendous to watch.
I think both of them are good.I think the De Gea vs Courtois divide in this thread is pretty close to ex-keepers vs others.
Which one do the ex-keepers prefer?I think the De Gea vs Courtois divide in this thread is pretty close to ex-keepers vs others.
Yeah it's just hard to fathom when looking back at old Wenger teams. Sign of times to come maybe. My cousin (Arsenal fan) was saying "nah man, that's how Wenger's playing these big games". I was like "nah man, you're just getting pumped".
Yeah it's Ospina clearly.I think both of them are good.

Well obviously they're both ****ing amazing but for all that's been said about Courtois the amount of points that De Gea has won for United this season is ridiculous. Every keeper can sympathise with playing behind a dodgy back four and being relied upon to pull out a few saves to keep a side in the game but the extent to which he did it early on was basically other worldly.Which one do the ex-keepers prefer?
I haven't actually noticed a divide at all.
Yeah I'd agree with all of that. Courtois was much better last season though.Well obviously they're both ****ing amazing but for all that's been said about Courtois the amount of points that De Gea has won for United this season is ridiculous. Now, I'm not saying Courtois couldn't do similarly but he hasn't needed to and when comparing them in the context of this season it's difficult to give him credit for something he's not done - he was also half dropped after the Tottenham game.
Tbf, you're both right. That is how we play big games these days. Difference between Saturday and City was we just couldn't get out. They pressed us really effectively and we didn't have Santi having a worldie to dribble out of every bit of pressure and distribute it brilliantly. This meant we didn't create enough AND meant they were constantly peppering us with attacks. Lack of possession in itself is not an issue, it's about how efficient you are the rare times you have it, and whether you have things under control when you don't have it (just after losing the ball isn't one of those times). Mind it's not like we actually created a lot v City. And you wouldn't necessarily expect to get more than one goal away in a big game. We also made defensive errors which cost us which wasn't the case v City.My cousin (Arsenal fan) was saying "nah man, that's how Wenger's playing these big games". I was like "nah man, you're just getting pumped".
