Mohammed Amir cleared to return with immediate effect

That's a gross simplification. I, for example, believe his circumstances deserve to be taken into account, including his youth, the fact his captain and senior player was involved, and also the fact that he didn't match fix, but spot fixed. Regardless, I still feel he should be banned for longer. I lean towards life but I can see 10 years. The fact that it was only August/September 2010 when this happened, and he's already allowed back (i.e. less than 5 years) is rightfully seen as too soon.

The bloke played a huge part in ruining a test match at Lord's. The remaining 3-4 days of that test after it was revealed in the media was nothing more than an embarrassment on cricket. The fact that some people feel he shouldn't be back is a perfectly reasonable view.

I think even if you feel Amir has done the time and should be allowed back, you should be completely understanding of people on a cricket message board who live and breathe the sport not wanting to ever see him again. It is such a normal and understandable view. Especially in light of Cronje and Azhar in 2000.
Jono, when did I ever say that I'm not understanding of people who don't want him back? I understand their view, respect it even. I just don't agree with it. This is a cricket board where we debate topics. I'm allowed to have a different opinion from you and others aren't I? I can turn around and state the same to you really - the fact that some people are welcoming him back is a perfectly reasonable view. Just because you disagree doesn't make that view inherently odd or wrong.

See, I only slightly agree with this. I get what you are saying. But, I think its understandable for someone to be like "how can you want him back? He hurt the game so much!", even if that isn't right in your mind. However conversely I can't see how anyone can actually argue against someone saying they don't want him back though. It should be like "yeah I can see why you think that, even if I disagree".

I get your frustration at the "talent" point you raised, because that's attacking your reasons for your view. But otherwise, I don't think anyone on a cricket message board who doesn't want Amir back should be questioned really. It is just such a natural feeling to have.

It was only one day that was ruined itbt as the news broke Saturday night and we polished them off on the Sunday. Nonetheless your point is valid and it was a pretty great first couple of days in that Test. The biggest travesty in all this has been Stuart Broad's century having an asterisk next to it forevermore. Absolutely heartbreaking, stay humble.

The entire test was ruined in hindsight tbh. It deserved to be remembered for one of at the all time great rearguard partnerships, but it's not. Because of Amir, Asif and Butt.

Series was so well set when Broad came to the crease and Pakistan rampaging having come back and won the 3rd test.

God damn it.

Trott's performance was unreal. Cheats ruined it more than Austin ruined Vince's unveiling of Tyson

What have I been saying all these years? Huh, what have I been saying all these years? You humanoids!

I never thought I'd see people throwing debris at Hulk Hogan. I knew it should have been done a long time ago.

Heenan is one of the great heel commentators.

And it seems apt that a thread about Amir becomes a pro-wrestling discussion, doesn't it?

Jesse was good. King in the mid-90s outstanding.

Heenan the best, though. Royal rumble 92 anyone.
