***Official*** India and England in Australia ODI Tri-Series 2015

I think you are blowing that comment out of proportion, kind of crazy considering all the India attacks, yet one remark like this has everyone in a twist

India are a good ODI side so I expect them to play well and dominate.

Moeen Ali booing, as Dhoni said after that game, he has brilliant Indian fans in England. It's all good banter, some need to develop thick skin, glass houses and stones e.t.c.

Oh my what a surprising comeback, I am so hurt with this colonial dig that I will have to sulk like you
Isn't ***** Indian?

It's not that what you said was particularly offensive, just that it lacks taste and perspective. The tonality of "putting someone in their place" is not sporting.

Nah Hendrix that bloke is dire but you're going OTT here.

I'm all for teams being put in their place. India were put in their place on their last tour here and they will be again in the World Cup.:)

मैं भारतीय हूँ

I also don't think it's sporting to say you want to put another team in their place. It's one thing to be joking about and another to actually have that nationalistic sincerity behind it.

I don't think sport should have anything to do with ugly nationalistic feelings and support. Idk how anyone can say the Moeen Ali booing was "good banter".

TBF the reason sport in general is so popular is because of that tribe mentality. The ugly chest thumping, "my team is greater than your team", war-like attitude. Only really die hard fans like those on CW actually care about the beauty and competitiveness of the sport. The average fan uses it as a mean to make himself feel superior to others for being from or supporting a country/city/region with a superior team.

The average Indian fan supports India first and are drawn to cricket because India are good at it. For the rest of us here, supporting the country is second to love of the sport. It's why WW pisses us off so much too.

Yeah but I really don't mind patriotism. Patriotism, not nationalism that invokes the sort of "your nation is **** and my country is the only good one" **** that people display.

It's sport and you should have the option to root for anyone you like. I'm Indian but I predominantly support Australia, SA and NZ. That doesn't mean I'm any less Indian and country-bashing isn't cool.

Nothing wrong with being patriotic.........I'm an unashamed die hard supporter of English cricket.

But 2 teams play a contest, 1 wins and 1 loses........for every winner there has to be a loser. How does that put anyone "in their place"?? If India do win on Friday, the head to head will be one a piece............how the **** has anyone been put back in their place. Dire comment, dire poster.

Actually, on reflection the only time this "put back in their place" bollocks would apply is if a team or set of supporters were doing a lot of trash talk before a game and talking themselves up to a level which they not. I haven't seen any such talk coming out of the England camp or from any of the Poms on here.

Nah heaps of the poms on here think they're team is bordering on OK. If that's not talking themselves up then what is?

Gun post.

Whatever it takes!!!
To be honest, a few of the new Indian posters who seem to have cropped just in time for the WC makes me feel kinda bad about being an India supporter here at CW... Come on guys, every team has its dire supporters here, but even the direness has to have some limits...

And on that post, yeah it was a stupid thing to say, but I have seen much worse on these forums... So.....

I've not writteh India off just their playing their bad games now :).

The worry tho is their bowling which hasn't fired this summer, they will at least make it to the 8,we Australia have Afghanistan and Bangladesh in our groups which could be a bit of a worry.

India's probably got to just be looking at peaking at the right time. Being away for so long, they won't perform consistently throughout the next month or so, they just have to get themselves into a spot where they only need to win three games in a row and hope that they do.

It's only a tri series. Also the fact that you are all behaving "so scared" of an out of form experimenting Indian team is even more worrying. You almost make it sound like the game is out of your control, when you can win it and go through, yet this seems to have been ruled out.

If anything this makes the last game more fun, otherwise England could have been playing "safe" to avoid a bonus defeat.

It's good everyone's balls are the on the line so to speak.
" experimenting Indian team" - who are all the missing players then ??

Yes it didn't make sense to be. I always have banter with my British Caribbean mate and he is quick to say a Gayle storm will destory our pie attack, this is sport right not war? Perhaps I should feign being butt hurt and say how can you say such horrible things considering your people were enslaved

That's right, lets jump from sport to real life events. You see a few disgusting people remind Israel of the holocaust over minor things.

Either way, the people who leave this comments show not only their true colours but also being in pain. I have no issue sleeping unlike them.
someone explain this post to me because this makes no goddamn sense
