I came into this thread to say that I am both excited by Anderson hitting 140 plus, and also extremely concerned about him injuring himself in one of these meaningless games.
Please McHesson rest Corey for at least 2 of the next 3 games.
I don't think we all realise what we have on our hands with Anderson. He could turn out to be a superstar of this World Cup. He is a big game player and could turn out to be the match winning edge in several games.

I did chuckle at that. In regards to Forsyth Barr, haven't had an end-on seat yet, but every seat I've been in (in both the North and South stands) have been great. I was near the goal line for the solitary Ranfurly Shield defence in 2013 and even that was good. I haven't heard a bad word from mates outside Dunedin who have come here to watch a game either.

I remember having a seat almost right on halfway for a Bledisloe test at Westpac Stadium. I felt like channelling Zoolander and asking if it was a ''rugby test for ants'' such was the distance between my seat and the sideline.
I guess my problem with Forsyth is partly down to the fact I had a neck injury from rugby last season so it was absolute hell tilting my neck the whole game.

I also seem to have excellent eyesight so I don't mind being a bit far from the actin at the cake tin.

I don't think wrapping Corey in wool is necessarily going to help.
If he has any sort of niggle, sure.

Anyway, I know I'm a Latham fan boy and Athlai and Flem heart Guptill, but what happens if Latham opens the next match with Guptill and significantly outscores him? Are we getting to the point yet where Guptill is vulnerable?

When he gets out early against India and SL it's completely fine because their pace bowlers are crap, but the game plan is stuffed if Williamson is coming out to a fired up Broad, Finn, Starc, Johnson or Steyn.

In that scenario I'd say I may actually see Guptill getting dropped on form if he failed in a few WC proper innings. I still think he'd start.

If Latham hits a ton in the remaining games before the WC and Guptill doesn't crack a 50 then I reckon Latham will start. It pretty much has to be that exact combination of things though. Latham hitting a couple of fifties probably wouldn't be enough, and Guptill playing one decent innings would probably save him regardless. As Athlai says it'd only take a couple of actual WC failures for the swap to be made though.

Apparently Williamson and Taylor have been involved in 12 run outs batting together. Seriously WTF.

Having him and Ronchi at 6 and 7 will often take our score out of reach of the opposition. With any half-decent platform we're looking at scoring 300+ a lot of the time. In fact, as a big Guptill fan I couldn't be happier with our batting all the way from 1 - 7, it's just a matter of who comes off on the day.

I would like to see Baz getting a rest and Latham opening with Guptill for a couple of games, so Baz doesn't break down, Latham gets some play time so he is not cold when he has to come in to cover an injury, and Guptill gets a kick up the ass so he can start getting his head straight. Coincidenatlly, his best innings came when Latham was batting with him.

Mills was below average today. Didn't even look like taking a wicket and went for 25 off his first five up front. Boult on the other hand was sensational early doors, could've had one or even two and went for 10. Anyone without bias could see that, except for the haters obvs.
Yes, I think the haterz can read score cards too. How shocking that Mill went at 5s with the field up, which I'll remind you is less than the required run rate, in his first international game back.

While you're here, can we get a recap of his first domestic game back? I hear you were there.

Not a big fan of Latham but he should be given a chance to open, well he should of opened when Williamson was out. Williamson to captain and McCullum rested for the last game.

Indeed. Last time I was down at Forsyth Barr it was for NZ vs. South Africa. I was in the front row at the side, around about on the 22. Yes, I had a bend my neck to see the far end but the touch judge was pretty much within reach - you really are up close to the action there. Really like that.

just woke up to see the international dialling code thatis our scorecard..disappointed but credit to NZ who were clearly the better team and deserved series winners..With Taylor coming into runs again, i genuinely think you guys are going to beat Aus in the final and win the world cup as you have a very well balanced squad..Not sure what we do from herein terms of changing our form but if the last game is meaning less, hope that we will experiment in it with the aim of moving ourselves forward for the WC. NZ is always a difficult place for us to tour but what annoys me is that we had some of these games in our hand and let them go stupidly and NZ are too good a team at home to do get a secondchance with..

It was just an average performance, didn't look like taking a wicket in those five overs and was completly out bowled by a guy who 99 percent of this forum are adamant has next to no chance of being a good ODI bowler and didn't want him near this World Cup team.

As for his domestic return, congrats. He out bowled Matt Quinn, a kid who is lucky to be playing at this level AFAIC.
