Days of Grace

International Captain
It's a long way from perfect, but it still eliminates more 'shockers' than prior to DRS regardless of what anyone wants to claim. The biggest problem for me is captains too often waste reviews on tight ones & hence often lose them when the shocker comes.
1 review per team per innings might fix that (in tests).

I could really do with 100k. I suck at catching though and paying for World Cup tickets in the hope a ball comes near me and the catch sticks probably isn't a great investment.

I like the promotion though. Watching 50 year old men trying to take diving catches is great.

We award different numbers of runs based on those things, so they clearly aren't the same thing.

Cricket has hundreds of rules, and lots of them get changed around over time.
The difference is the runs are based on whether the ball, has bounced or not as opposed to judging whether it has crossed the line. So in terms of whether a boundary has been scored, a 6 or a 4 is the same.

Regardless, you still have the same problem if the ball has bounced rather than rolling. You'll still be trying to judge whether the ball has crossed the line in the air. Nothing wrong with the current way

Yeah, but if the fielder gets in the way, the ball hasn't reached the line.

I don't believe in this boundary thing stridently or anything, but we have debates on whether 50% of the ball might have hit the stumps because a computer program says it might have, so why are boundaries so untouchable?

And fair enough too :)
The way you describe it is how a the goal line is judged in football, and the touch line in rugby (in most situations but let's not go there) so it's not like you're totally out of left field but I reckon it would be more confusing in the case of boundaries, not less.

Simply awful fielding from us. Thirri doesn't seem to learn from his mistakes last time and is simply allowing the game to drift and NZ to score freely..come on man, change the game..

So how long before Kane averages 50 in ODIs?

Yep, he's shaping up to be that good. This 24 year old has been almost impossible to get out since the start of last summer or even before then. I re-watched his ton against South Africa last night and FMD it was the beginning of something awesome.

I wonder what the odds would be of this partnership ending in a run out?

Stoked to see our 2 best bats spending some time at the wicket together but gee they really look hesitant running. It feels like they don't really trust each other.

He's so much 'our Amla', it's not funny.

Since January 1 2013 KW has 1451 @ 58.04 striking at 86 with hundreds against South Africa, Pakistan and Sri Lanka (and lots of fifties).
