True. Felt the same about Swann, although he seemed to have deteriorated as a batsman the more games he played.Neither him nor Woakes maximise their batting potential low in ODIs. Would probably rather Woakes used in that way though.
Broad batting 9 certainly makes more sense than Buttler batting 8 and Woakes batting 9 though.Just a random thought that passed my mind and am sure it won't be implemented but sending Broad as a pinch hitter should be considered. He is being wasted at 9 or 10 and has decent ability to bat. Wouldn't harm the Poms.
No. No, no, no, no and no.Why not Kevin Pietersen, the biggest match winner for England squad.
If Amla and DeVilliers (highly unlikely) happen to have a bad day, I can't see SA making more than 200. Anderson Vs Amla should be a very interesting battle."No chance" is an understatement tbh. SA look very brittle, and England have two bowlers capable of making them have a very bad day.
That's usually the case when a pinch hitter is used. But if the plan comes off and Broad scores a quick 30-40 thats job done i suppose and the team benefits from it. Maybe they can use this ploy sparingly. But yea I don't see that happening.Broad batting 9 certainly makes more sense than Buttler batting 8 and Woakes batting 9 though.![]()
Yet a bloke like Dhoni is a master. It's weird how much of a specialist role batting late down in limited overs is. You'd think players like Haddin, Woakes and Broad would be decent at it but they're all pretty terrible.
