Pfft, he's dead to me now, this makes him practically Welsh in my eyes, it's all about Super Tommy Nicholls now

Nah seriously been resigned to it for ages, and if the fee is anything like correct, and I have a feeling it probably is for once, then it's a club-changing thing for us, and great for him.

Even less of a surprise to me, because as a steward on Boxing Day, I heard Julian Tagg say to someone else with a big grin something like "I don't care as long as we've got the money in the bank", didn't post it online because ya know silly rumours and could have been about summat else. Him not playing against Wimbledon was the icing on the cake, was just awaiting the fee news really.

Great justification of our Yoof system, at times when the likes of Yeovil have given up on theirs, this means we can make our facilities even better, and this transfer means that young players will want to come here, Ampadu is already highly-rated, Pym has played under 20 football for England, and plenty of other talents around.

Moxey, Friend, Seaborne have all played at an higer level too.

This is why despite faltering the League we were right to show faith with Tisdale, Perryman, Tagg and what they were trying to do. So actually a great day really despite the fact he's gone, IF it all goes swimmingly.

Exciting times for Grimes too, when this deal was first mooted there was talk Matty would come back on loan, but it seems Monk wants him in right away, with injuries they'vegot he could make his prem debut very soon, maybe New Year.

The kid himself signed an extension recently when he knew big clubs would be in for him, we would have got money anyway because of his age, but it hasn't hurt our negotiations, so wish him all the luck, if he plays really well he can get out of Wales quickly with a bigger transfer, what an incentive!!!!!!

Do I now slavishly watch SSN for the day?

Good to see a young player moving for good money. Guess the question now is do you invest some of it to try and get promoted or just use it to run the club/pay off any debts etc....

We have two from our youth team who I am desperate for us to keep Goldson and Woods but if they go for good money you can't complain at all.

Woods is very good, similar to Grimes from what I saw..

Liverpool's revival didn't last long then. I'd say it's been a good day for United but it really depends whether you expect Southampton to keep up the top-four challenge in 2015.
