I'm well known for not bring a follow on enforcer unless you're running out of time and this sort of thing is why. You don't plan for 500 but you do have to consider fatigue.

Thing is Matthews is really damn good, and slowly picking off his partners only propels him into god mode, in saying that he hasn't looked totally convincing today

He's consistent, but he's not known for really big hundreds which is what SL need to really get us worried. Now that I've said that he's gonna get a double of course.

Prasanna is a fighter, if he's batting with a decent partner I'd back them for a decent partnership, Dickwella will be completely hit and miss I feel and the tail are ordinary, especially if they don't have a top 5 batsman around with them

Mathews really should be at #4. They would have us under so much more pressure if Thirimanne wasn't pissing around after the initial need to consolidate. There's a difference between being conservative and digging a hole. Karu has been conservative, but Thiri dug a hole.

If his scoring shots are so high risk then he shouldn't be in the team.

Wags is a 30-35 average bowler. Chris Martin basically. The question is do we back Bracewell, Henry or Milne to offer more immediately? If the answer is yes then we can justify a harsh dropping.

He has looked out of sorts in this test despite the 3fer. Down on bounce and zip and any swing he gets goes too early. Looks like a guy who hasn't played a test for 6 months.
