Where's the common sense..........outside leg was the only thing saving Root there so why not look at that first?

Hold the game up for 5 mins for no reason.

Lakmal has really been impressive.. If not a fluke he should be in the WC squad..
Yeah, on the Aussie and NZ decks he's a must have for my quid. Seems to have improved his control no end. The way he set up Jordan with a couple of full ones before he got one to go away was a classic seamer's gambit.

Brumbers, comments on Senna's new action?

Just hoping Woakes can get through to his first List A half century now.

He definitely has bowled with more control than he had in Eng.. if he can do this consistently should be a shoo-in for the team instead of a 2nd spinner like I thought was the better option..

Speaking of improvement, Senanayake's action is about 1000% better than it was before his enforced rest.

Kinda suggests he must've known he was getting a little elbow in on the action beforehand.

Yea it looks much better.. I'm surprised how quickly he remodelled his action.. He basically came back and showed that he was the spinner with the most control in the squad right away.. Impressive - he was in my high school batch :D

Ha, cool.

Was his action always a little, er, unconventional?

Oh, FFS, Woakes. Talk about soft. Had played well too.

Great minds and all that.

But yeah, markedly better. Looks a completely different bowler and probably just as effective too.

If the ICC's clean up campaign has this kind of effect it must be a good thing. Credit where it's due to the control board and the bowler.

Oh, and Sri Lanka. Mullered us today. Worthy winners. England and spin, ugh.

Lakmal might simply become the 2nd seamer ahead of Prasad, although I'd like to see him tested at the death before I make a judgment on him as an ODI bowler, the selectors have been trying to develop him as an ODI seamer over the last 2 years so hopefully it comes to fruition

I just think that his action really didn't require a kink in the elbow, it's not like he was bowling doosras or anything, wouldn't have been all that hard to re-model it and keep the variations, hard part was getting it to sink in and get back to similar effectiveness in international cricket so soon.

No surprise there - only that we actually managed to win a couple in the series, which not many folks would have predicted.

Is this England side going anywhere? We seem to be perpetually short of 2 or 3 players to make us genuine contenders. On the face of it there's the making of a side for the following WC, but that's assuming that our newer players develop into something more substantial.

Of course, Sanga's farewell ton overshadowed everything today. A wonderful innings from a wonderful player. The sort of cricketer we gave up producing many moons ago.

Does England have any decent spinner ATM (other than Tredwell) in their domestic circuits ?
