That's a more general point. I'm talking specifically about India in these couple of overseas tours. A baptism of fire like the one in England will make them tougher characters imo. You can talk about technique being overrated all you want but those collapse were because the ball swung and there was substantial carry in the pitches. The first match in that series was on a far easier pitch, and we batted all right there. Yet, we almost collapsed in the second innings and lost the game on the last day. Took an innings from Binny of all people to get a draw. We were just as much under the cosh there as in the other tests. But because the conditions were good for batting they were able to get out of trouble.

MSD score runs and has a pretty terrible technique.

Binny, Bhuvi and Vijay managed runs too and they are decent technically, but not in the class of Pujara/Kohli.

IMO they did struggle initially due to technical problems, but that gradually grew to become a metal one as the series wore on. Perhaps they were just not used to such a prolong stretch of failure, and as such didn't know how to deal with it. Perhaps they were shot mentally from such a long season. But that's what worried be about their performances in England; that they couldn't find a way to adapt their techniques and grind out ugly runs. All the greats can do it.

Hopefully, as you said, they learnt and grew from it.

lol No, Ishant's gonna be bounced out easily, Karn sharma looks more like a hitter rather than a technical batsman from the little I've seen, but I could be wrong. The less said about Shammi and Aaron the better.
