Just gonna echo dogwalker on this:

I'll probably be shot down here, but is it the best idea to drag it out beyond the upcoming Aus summer? Do his family and friends want the constant reminder?

****, I don't know.

It's a nice gesture but we don't want to overdo it.

A constant reminder that their son was a popular cricketer around the world? You think they won't have pictures and memories on permanent display?

I mean it's not unusual for deceased sportsmen to have statues, stands named after them etc.

A constant reminder of a loved one is surely not a bad thing?

I would debate that, but yea I don't mind too much personally. And there isn't anything I can do to prevent you all from sending it to England if you wanted to. Just my 2 cents.

Don't get me wrong people, if the majority don't want it at the Ashes over here I'm cool with that but I don't personally think it would cause upset

I like the idea - really cements that it's a cricketing tragedy, not just an Australian one.

I think also with it being an Ashes series in England, to see 'English' fans hanging out support banners will show what Nate says, and that some things are above rivalry

(I know were not English fans one and all, but thats how it'd be percieved at first glance)

Mate, you've got as much say over what happens with it as anyone else........none of us own this, it was a collective idea and made possible by the donations of 40 odd members. AFAIC everyone that has contributed has an equal voice over what happens with the flag after this series and any surplus funds left in the kitty.

I don't particularly agree with your pov,I don't think the flag will act as constant reminder to those close to Phillip........there are going to be so many things closer to home that will be doing that constantly. I also think it would be nice for them to understand that that the public showing of emotion and grief that has been seen over the last week or so is not all a 5 min, caught up in the moment thing...........the cricket community is going to feel this for some time to come and if we can display this flag as a token of our loss and affection for The Prince for the foreseeable future I don't see that as any bad thing.

This should be (as much as possible) a communal decision so everyone should voice their thoughts and opinions.........

I will let you all know when it arrives here at work

Anyway, are there any other Brisbane volunteers?

If not, am still happy to display it for the duration - but some others would be good
