Yeah he did, but he didn't say whether he could meet up with Max on the morning of day 2 to do the hand over. This is hard part of doing multiple days with different people......the passing it on.

Max has gone right out of his way to do the swap with me by staying the night in Melbourne when he would have gone back to Geelong.

If Vic can meet up with Max on day 2 then it is not to late to get the flags sent to him and he can do the business on day 1..........i'll send him a message and see if he is interested.
I can't confirm for a little bit, waiting on what the missus' work schedule is going to be over Xmas, still hasn't been told yet as she's just started back three weeks ago.

No worries Vic, we have a little while before the flags will actually ship........so we have until then before we'll have to finalise our plans.

A big thanks to wiff who has done an awful lot of work liaising with the flagmakers to get the images right

Given the earlier shipping date than imagined we can now manage the Brisbane test as well if we have any takers. I know howardj is going and have sent him a message to see if he is interested in doing the flags.......if any one else going to the GABBA and wants to put their hands up let us know.

As per my above post I've just heard from howardj and we've had a massive win here...........he's going to all 5 days of the Brisbane test and in his words would be "honored" to do the flag thing!!

That's gonna give us a great start with all 5 days in Brisbane covered, 3 possibly 4 in Melbourne and time to work on our Sydney friends to see what can be done up there.

Huge thanks to everyone involved in making Duffers original idea a reality.

I imagine everyone who has wanted to donate has done so now, so the overall donation total is...... $389.79!

What a huge effort by the CW community! Thanks to everyone who contributed :)

The banners are in the process of being printed with payment to go through tomorrow. They will be sent to forum member howardj who is going to display them at the Brisbane Test. Adders can probably provide more information here on whether we're looking for more people to assist so I'll let him advise. I think Adders and wiff deserve a lot of thanks for all they've done for organizing this and putting together the banners. Top effort guys.

Also, it's time to start thinking where we want to donate the remaining money to. Suggestions?

Thanks James and awesome effort all round from the CW community :)

OK, so the schedule for flag duty that we have so far is as follows.........

Brisbane

Day 1 - howardj
Day 2 - howardj
Day 3 - howardj
Day 4 - howardj
Day 5 - howardj

Melbourne

Day 1 - Nothing confirmed yet but possibly Vic Orhodox
Day 2 - Maximas
Day 3 - Adders
Day 4 - Nothing confirmed yet but possibly Jono
Day 5 -

Sydney

Day 1 -
Day 2 -
Day 3 -
Day 4 -
Day 5 -

If anyone else is going to Brisbane and would like to have the opportunity I'm sure howardj wouldn't mind sharing the task. We're confirmed to send the flags to him so it would have to be for day 2 onwards.

Melbourne is just about all sorted, just waiting for Vic and Jono to confirm their movements. If anyone is going to days 1, 4 or 5 though and wants to stick their hands up, we can certainly make you 12th man.

Sydney, Dan has said he probably wasn't going to go but if no one else volunteers he'd step up for a day. Really need to get something happening here folks so if you're thinking about it book your tickets and let us know :D

Does the Hughes family have a preferred charity, anyone know? That would be my suggestion for any remaining cash.

A bit selfish to say this really, but is it worth keeping $20-30 aside to pay for sending the flag to England for the Ashes and back? At the moment its being passed around or sent nationally, its unfair to expect the last person of the summer to pay for international shipping as it could get a bit pricey

id imagine it would be about a hundred bucks to get it posted to pomgolia. someone might be heading over for the ashes that could bring it over though

Doubt it would be that much Uvo.

There is a freight calculator on the Aus Post website, once we have the thing and know how much it weighs and how small it packs down to we can calculate the freight. But it could be an idea for someone to take it over, I'm planning on heading home for a few weeks around the end of Jun next year.....so that might work out in time for the Ashes.

A good point raised. I just did a quick search on Home - Australia Post for a parcel weighing 1kg to 1.5kg and it's the following to send. I have no idea how much they will weigh though but imagine it would be around that mark?
