Well played Mogs. A bit of mojo returning would be very, very timely.

Could be an over too far for Dilshan this

Well Morgan played beautifully there, competitive total for sure.

Herath and Dilshan bowled really well through the middle there, and I thought Jeevan Mendis was pretty good too, Ajantha once again showed he has limited options against set attacking batsmen but then showed his value on slow pitches against tailenders and sloggers, Prasad was good too

Not an easy score to chase but I don't think it'll be tight. Given the make up of the England attack I expect this'll depend more or less entirely on how quickly they get through the Sri Lankan top four.

Thisara has really become a liability.. was supposed to be the go-to guy for the all-rounder spot for the WC but now I'd be tempted to just go with a spinning all-rounder even in Aus/NZ..

Almost feel like he should just drop his pace and focus on bowling like Mathews and get more control..

Am pretty excited to watch my first live cricket in months. We'll take this one by 80 runs or so.

Just seen some geezer tweeted the ECB complaining about the start time and that it was inconsiderate to England fans

World cup tinkery. They want to form an attack that has Moeen as the sole spinner.
Yeah, can see the idea but I'm not in favour at all. I get that Tredders probably wont feature in the WC but the thing this team needs most is some confidence from winning games. To do that you pick your best side for the conditions.

If we were in good form and had a good 12 months behind us then you could afford to **** around with this series as a warm up for the WC.........but we're not, we haven't so we can't.

Yeah but that's the problem isn't it even if he scored 2 off 60 balls and dropped 5 catches and we won, they'd still laud him as a great captain.

In the end I just hope my guys Ravi and Moeen do well, and that's all I'm thinking about, it's working well so far this series.

BTW, when was it you started supporting the beard, I must admit my love came what I thought was out of nowhere (it's the flowing left-habder cover-drive, how can you not love it, but he's silky all around), solid decision, and I'll admit I thought he was a bit of an under-achiever for a while.

Lierpool supporter apparently, not sure about that, it's not the worst, but not the best.
Was this match The Home of CricketArchive

Still one of the best innings I have ever seen. Went on about him in the domestic thread for the rest of that season. Then yes he definitely under-achieved for a good while but that talent was always there, well the batting sure was at any rate.

He has good days and bad days with the ball, rarely has an average day, depends on his rhythm I think, if he gets his batting into shape he almost deserves a spot based simply on that, I think he'll enjoy quicker pitches.

Also we don't really have a good enough spinning all-rounder at this stage IMO, two specialist spinners (if Senanayake is available) is the way to go IMO

I really don't see what the selectors are seeing in Kusal.. Happy to be made to eat my words but I don't see him converting his 50 off ~70 balls to 100 off ~100.. if he's not making a 25 ball 30 what's the point?

Doesn't look difficult out there, not easy if you're a pace bowler I feel, nice to see Kusal being a little more judicious with regard to when he goes for the big shot, suspect our batting depth will take us home today

Judicious isn't the word I'd use.. get Mahela to open and either push Kusal down the order or bring in Chandimal? If it takes a few more failures from Kusal for that to happen I hope it does..
