But maybe some of them actually wanna play as they might feel it will help them cope better or as a tribute to him. Many cricketers have continued playing when a family member died in a few days or when a family member was terribly sick even.Yeah, this happened on the field but I dunno how sitting at home and thinking about it for months will help a professional sportsmen either when they ultimately will have to carry one at some time? But if the test goes ahead the players WILL feel obliged to play, they're professional cricketers ffs. No matter how much they say there's no pressure to play the players will still feel there is.
As i said first test can maybe be cancelled especially considering timing of the funeral, but you cannot now stop cricket for months and cancel the series.
If others who might have been closer to him or playing that match still aren't in position to play and not at their best they will ask for a break themselves and doubt the CA would force them like that. I agree there is implied pressure for professional cricketers but you cannot assume they all don't wanna play either. And if you do then for how long?
As i said before this type of tragic incident has happened before in several sports and most continued in days. From F1 to cycling to Football.
Edit - Also what Greg said.
