And his signing of Balotelli was just nonsense, **** knows what he was thinking there.
I've had cause to speak to Rodgers a couple of times - he has exceptional self-confidence*, and Balotelli is such a prodigious talent* I'm not surprised he fancied his ability to be the one to bring the best out of him - there will always be managers that will think like that, which is why Balotelli will never be out of a job

Andy Townsend moaning about Sagna and in so doing completely ignoring the fact that Kompany was all over the place there. Not sure where Mangala had disappeared to either.

This Hjoberg bloke looks like a handy player.
Wants out. 19. Pep thinks he has immense potential as a holding midfielder. Wenger pls.

Will get decent game time now that Lahm is out though, so not sure if he'll still want out by January.

Well quite. You'd rather hope that one of your centre backs would pick up the opposition's centre forward in that situation instead of leaving it to the much smaller full back. Maybe Mangala had taken the hint and just ****ed right off after gifting Bayern their equaliser with as unintelligent a challenge as you'd wish to see. Surely that level of stupidity should be an instant sacking offence.

First time I've watched them live this season. Has Navas delivered even one decent cross from all the good positions he's found himself in?

Really, you can see why they're struggling against anyone competent. Hopefully this will stay as it is and put their Champions league campaign out of its misery.

Haha, just seen the replay. Love how Mangala just suddenly charged forward for no reason as the cross was about to come in.

Clichy, Kompany and Mangala is a car crash in defensive positioning tbh. Surprised Bayern didn't get Müller in somewhere.

Is it just me, or do Man City lack a "footballing identity"? The whole footballing identity thing is something I recall Tim Vickery speaking about in relation to Brazil after the WC (i.e. how they needed to rethink theirs), but I'm wondering if it's applicable to City as well. For me, they don't really have an identifiable style of play, or anything particularly unique about the way they go about things. Their team is a bit hotchpotch in many ways, and isn't really geared towards playing with any particular style. This isn't to say they are a bad team, or lacking in cohesion, but most of their best moments come through bits of individual skill and ability, usually Yaya, Silva or Aguero doing something ridiculous.
