I have a question for you, good to see you in the thread btw, you have said that Latham was always the big wicket of school boy cricket. Was he a prodigy in the sense Taylor was...not bringing Kane into it as I don't think anyone has ever done as well as him in youth cricket.

Where I am going with this is - is I am wondering if we have three prodigies in the team now.
Yeah that's an interesting question actually. He was a prodigy in some ways because no one scored as many runs as him, looked as good or was as hard to get out. But, on the other hand, you never felt completely dominated. You could still get him out with a good nut in a decent area. He was just an awesome accumulator of runs and did it really regularly. Much like how he's batted in these games. Not too many risks, good shots all round the wicket and you really had to earn his wicket. You'd be battling away against him then he'd have 50, then 100 and you didn't remember ever feeling helpless. I think that's what made Williamson such a freak. Guys just couldn't even contemplate how to get him out.

Of the other guys in the side I've played against, Neesham and Anderson were a bit like that too. I didn't play Anderson too much but you can see how demoralising he could have been to a bowling attack. Neesham likewise. He'd just ****ing destroy you no matter where you bowled. Except they didn't have the consistency of Latham or Williamson.

Surely I have played against you if your in the similar age bracket to Jimmy, Corey etc.

Kane had that aura though, he was THE guy and it was very well documented how good he was and was going to be. He had an insane work ethic even at that age and was constantly figuring out ways to get better and better.

Jimmy was known to be destructive, but always not far away from a brain explosion especially against spin. Corey was just see ball hit ball destructive and physically speakin, was an imposing figure.

Great post.

So approx 50 overs, 200 runs. Are we worried yet? I think they're going to cake walk this the moment Younis/Misbah are in.

Bad light to win out? Don't think we'll get all those 50 overs. Just keep Azhar Ali on strike and they won't get near it...

pakistan aren't winning this atm. too much stone walling from one bloke and the other bloke gets to enjoy the perks of being a left hander and is struggling to even stay there.

someone needs to take a shovel to the other side of the pitch while the umpire isn't watching. the same rough to get at the righties would have been sweet.

Was worried at the declaration.

Suspect that Pak will push along at 2-3 rpo until tea, then have a dart against the spinners. 7 wicket win with 4 overs to spare.

Yep, declaring when all they need is 4 an over is really brave.

draw or pakistan win imo. we don't have enough time to get out a bunch of right handers on a grinding deck unless we get some hooping reverse or inconsistent bounce going.

the longer these two strike at

oh hey full toss wicket. cheers azhar

Masood playing the sort of arsey innings that traditionally frustrates us. Giving Craig an idea of what it must be like to bowl to himself.
