Ah love that Corey pull shot. Arguably plays the pull better than any other NZ batsman.

So soft... and there in lies the problem for NZ. it's not a talent or technique issue, it's a mental issue.

It's also partly bad luck too. Shahzad and Azhar were underedging the ball a lot during the first 2 days. That sort of pitch I suppose, which admittedly was always going to make Corey's cavalier approach short lived.

No, inside edging a cut shot means you played the wrong shot to a ball that was too close to you and couldn't extend your arms through it - that's completely a mental issue, ball selection.
I guess it depends where you define the technique to end and mental skills to begin. To me, technique involves aspects of the game which are down to subconscious training and muscle memory, and mental strength comes down to anything that can be done through deliberate thought. Anderson's shot was down to reactive shot selection and therefore is a technique issue IMO (unless of course it was pre-meditated).

Technique to me would mean a deficiency that meant when-ever you played the shot, there was a risk.
Mentality to me indicates that you have no ability to select your shots nor play within yourself to ensure that you stay at the crease.

Rahat has 2-9 in 10 overs. This obviously means he's better than Boult and Southee put together.

That was truly horrible. Aside from anything else, I don't know how Neesham managed to not get bat or pad on it.
