Happy to see Kedar Jadhav in the squad for the last 2 ODIs. Hoping he gets a fair bat. In the 4 List A games in Australia, he made 4 50s.

I am not too sure re the Uthappa selection. He is too extravagant a player for my liking playing too many shots without having the technique for it and unlikely to be very consistent. If you have to select a batsman-keeper, Naman Ojha is a far better option. Not sure

Not sure re the direction India want to go with with Amit Mishra. Is a fine spin bowler and while wrist spinners do better in Australia than finger spinners, if the wrist spinners aren't any good, why not have a better finger spinner instead? The way Ashwin and the others have been bowling doesn't fill you with confidence.

I'm not a Mishra fan either. Seems to be a confidence bowler - on song he'll get you wickets, but once you hit him for a few runs he becomes quite hopeless. Also nothing great with the bat or in the field as well.

I presume he will be last choice spinner. I see Ashwin, Jadeja, and Karn Sharma all ahead of him in the pecking order

But Mishra's a wrist spinner, so I'm a bit confused.

Uthappa has improved drasticly recently. He has reworked his technique and has a better temperament now. Picks his shots better and looks to score big runs. I am very happy by his selection - i think me might be a late runner for a WC spot tbh.

And Mishra can bat! Doesn't he have a 200 in Ranji? Altho Jadeja has two 300s so yea...but anyways, hardly any better spinners than Mishra banging down the door for selection recently, and he has been bowling well in ODIs and T20s in the last couple of years.

Hasn't Mishra been really tripe when he has played Ranji Trophy though?

Also wtf happened to Chawla?

Funny how all our spinning options besides Ojha are pretty good batsmen

Ashwin
Jadeja
Mishra
Rasool
Chawla

Even Karn Sharma has an FC hundred, so he can't be that bad.

Ojha the only one to win a test match against Australia with the bat. As if we needed another reason why Ojha>all.

Different levels though. Jadeja is obviously a very handy batsman - more suited for ODIs and T20s. Ashwin is really impressive with the bat in Tests.
