tbf Ronchi probably can't do any worse then either Fulton or Rutheford had been over the past 12 months.

Yeah even I knew the variable bounce was pretty bad on this one from thousands of miles away tbf. No excuses. :p

haha they were brave playing horizontal bat shots on that pitch.

corey j isn't ****ing around. i was thinking today he may as well be the first reserve batsman while jesse is in exile and brownlie is having a crack at opener. he's got more going for him than most, is about as good as the other reserves if not better and will only improve (i hope), and he can bowl.

If Baz opens in the actual test we'll be very close to our best theoretical batting order.

watling isn't risking his wicket on this pitch with variable bounce it seems.

if he can get to 20 he's on for a score. it's how he rolls. either gets 50+ or gets out. i statsguru'd this ages ago when i got bored.

corey is storming along and judging by the commentary has decided being cautious on a pitch with variable bounce is for pussies. so far it's working pretty well tbf.

Should've been out ages ago I see.

35.4 Bilawal Bhatti to Anderson, no run, Outside off-stump again, batsman goes for a defense and gets and edge to it, goes direclt into the hands of second slip and instantly out of his hands aswell. a simple chance missed
Bilawal Bhatti was exceptional today. Some fearsome deliveries.

Karamat Ali to Southee, no run, flighted delivery, onto the backfoot and does a defense
65.5
Karamat Ali to Southee, no run, onto the frontfoot and hits him on the pads, Loud appeal but notout says the umpire
Southee trying hard to get his hero McCullum a possible bat tomorrow. This will probably be left to Watling and Sodhi shortly.

The highlights will be so great in the vault.

Watling past 20. If the bowlers can hang around with him he's going to make a score. Good signs from the best keeper batsman in the world.

Not sure what Dougeh needs a bat for....Sodhi's the one who'll be playing six innings in this series, trying to avoid the follow-ons.

dougeh has really brought that first class bowling average down recently, and propped up his batting one. won't be long before he's averaging less than 30 in 4 day cricket and becomes a really good bowling allrounder at that level. would be great if he could translate that to tests too.

haha you're resigned to it being that bad already? a return to the days where if Ross or Big Daddy Kane didn't do it, no one did?

Yeah, KW and Taylor completely underdone. Probably take Watling to be our top series runscorer if I was Cribbage.

Those two with Watling are essentially our batting order. BMac may fire once in six innings in an away series if we are lucky.
