I'm not sure how much that's the case. Originally in his first season he used to play in the centre with more direct players Podolski/Walcott/Ox wide but we changed it half way through the season and had the likes of Wilshere/Rosicky 10 with Cazorla in an attacking wide role and it didn't hinder his performance at all. He's just not been as good since, which is sad.

El Classico should be pretty good. Barcelona has got a bit of their rhythm back over the last 3-4 games. The flow has been improving. I liked how Messi and Neymar combined for goals in the last 2 matches. Will be keen to see how Rakitić performs in a big match.

Yeah he doesn't really get enough of a pass for being played wide, especially considering the excuses made for Kagawa there. But I don't think he's very good there, except against teams that sit back, but even a lot of the smaller teams don't do that anymore. I always think back to that Lahm interview after the game last year when he pointed out that Cazorla can't defend very well, run fast or counter-attack, so facing him meant he could push forward as much as he wants. He also has a habit of always wanting the ball to feet when there's space in behind he should be exploiting. It's a lot of liabilities to carry and his output from wide doesn't justify it.

Can't say I disagree with any of that, though I'd argue in his first season the output was definitely enough.

Alex Song dominating the City midfield. WAG. Is actually a really good premier league central midfielder, shame he made almost the worst decision possible by going to Barca to be a centre back.

Arteta and Flamini against a side that conceded 8 last weekend. Pretty sure that's why the world invented the Richard Keys banter vines.

City are pretty bloody ordinary

The employment of mercenaries doesn't produce spirit or culture

Sooooooo happy right about now. That was one cracking game and to score the second and hang on the way we did was pretty bloody sensational.

Jesus Christ I know balotelli isn't good but the commentators criticizing him for virtually everything is so tiring. One of them just had a go at him for not applauding an overweighted pass. Smh .

Bandwagons are fun.

Always reminds me of when Alan Hansen decided to slate Rio Ferdinand early in his West Ham career, over a few positioning issues. All the papers followed him, fair enough, next week on MOTD in the round-up West Ham conceded "through a weak defensive header from Rio Ferdinand" the stick continued to build, would have been fair again I suppose, but the header came from Marc Vivien-foe (RIP).

Gibbs injured which is both really disappointing an ultimately hilarious at the same time. We're now down to 4.
