these ****s have been beaten by the bowler but the ball doesn't carry because the pitch is a piece of ****, it's exactly why subcontinent cricket will always be the inferior form
At least you've graduated to attempting to imitate Burgey these days.

Keep trying mate

They're not playing in the subcontinent.

O'Keefe I expect. Two finger spinners idea should go on the back burner until Aus have a second spinner comparable to their seamers. And they clearly don't rate his batting.
I used to make this argument but I'm not sure I'd go quite that far. The pitches prepared in India for the last couple of tours by England and Australia for example certainly warrant two spinners if you've got two even remotely decent IMO, particularly if you've got someone like Watson or Marsh in the top order anyway.

As a general rule I'm not sure the UAE quite qualifies though -- the pitches are always slow, but they're typically either completely flat or they offer a bit of sideways movement/inconsistent bounce for everyone. You don't typically get pitches like the ones mentioned above where average spin is legitimately a bigger threat than quality pace.

2 spinners always looks like a better selection when you bat first tbf

UAE have weird pitches, they are either flat for everyone, offer the pacers a bit the first day or two then flatten out totally (SL 2013/14 style) or they break up and the spinners come into it late, seems to depend on whoever is touring.

I'm not sure the pacers have done anything to suggest that a 3rd pacer would have done more than SOK.

I don't think this would be enough to save him. He needs a very good 2nd innings to play the next test.

Late edit:

The comments WRT to his position are from a selectors POV. I'd consider an unchanged XI, pending the rest of the match & feedback from players.

That guy that brought out the light meter had a child trying to jump out of his shirt.

Anyway, great day for Pakistan. Can't wait to see how they **** this up.

WD Pakistan on a top effort. Stuck at it really well. Too many pissed away starts from Australia. TPC will be shattered at his dismissal. The people expect a match winning double ton from their champion in the second dig.

Reckon if Aus can come back strongly with the ball - enough to chase much under 300, say - they'll do it without many problems. Even after their mini-collapse this morning they still managed 300 without anyone really having to score much, and this match has seen two rapid tons already. Another 180 needed for safety I'd think.

I reckon even if they're set 350-375 they would more than likely do it with ease. Like you said, they got 300 with only really Warner scoring.

anything over 250 is going to be very hard imo

For this pitch, I'd say anything over 300 is going to be a stiff ask.

Clarke needs to come to the party. As great as Warner and TPC are, Australia will stand or fall on his performance.
