Ajmal Action Reported

If he was "cheating" he would have been called whilst playing for WI already just like Shilly has been TWICE. A quicker ball can be a risky business...so i suspect he'll look to either slow it down a tad to get better control or put it away altogether. He's only used it on occasions in t20s and i just thank God he won't have to "remodel" his entire action like Shilly has had to.
I don't think you can assume that just because he hasn't been called yet that means he won't be called in future. The crackdown on actions has only taken off in the last couple of months (starting with the citing and banning of Senanayake), and I suspect the ICC is trying to clean house before the World Cup next year. Narine has played very little international cricket in that time (just a handful of low profile ODI's against Bangladesh), and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's called for testing following the test series against India.

As to whether he's actually at any risk of being banned, IMO that's very hard to judge. As Beamer noted, he's definitely not in the same category as Senanayake and Ajmal, but there is still a definite snap in his action at the point of release that could get him into trouble.

Also might be interesting if Ashwin gets called. to see if India and the other big 2 are actually having a say in these matters.

By the way, even though he got reported specifically for his quicker ball are they still going to test his full arsenal?
they're not testing anything at this stage. They've just given him a warning and if he's warned again he won't be able to bowl for the rest of the tournament.

There's no actual testing going into it. It's not an ICC process, it's a CLt20 process.

The BCCI reporting/testing process is weird. He might not get tested at all, but if he gets reported a second time then he's suspended regardless. It makes one grateful for the ICC process despite its numerous and obvious flaws.

EDIT: Beaten by hendrix

It hasn't "just taken off" as far as WI is concerned because like i said Shilly was banned from last year...so the umpires have clearly been watching us and i have no doubt they would have done Sunny aswell if he'd stepped out of line. WI doesn't get any favors from anybody when it comes to umpires just like i've been at pains to point out in the past.

if you ignore all the bowlers that aren't from the WI who have been reported, 100% of them are from WI.

that makes pretty close to zero sense

It's interesting to see what would be the ICCs response if a bowler has some of his deliveries over the limit. Say the off break varies between 8-18, with average of 13, and majority of balls being legal.

If I'm not wrong, they take the average to measure flex, so if as you say, a bowler varies between 8-18 and chucks a few deliveries here and there but his average is <15, he's legal. Which is a bit stupid.

It will look more stupid if the bowler has something like twenty deliveries between 8-10 and single one at 46. Average will be 11.5 something, but that one deliberate chuck will make the whole process laughable to the meh level.

If a bowler is occasionally throwing in a 45 degree delivery then that is legitimate grounds for serious concern tbh. Unless you're okay with "well he only massively chucks once an over".

best thing about this crackdown is that steve smith is legitimately one of the best spinners in the world now
