Have never had any doubt whatsoever that Ajmal chucks it. Don't know how much I expected Ajmal to chuck it, didn't expect it to be 40 degrees, no, but he's always looked bad. Even if the bowlers with clean looking actions might be chucking, I have a very, very hard time buying that they'd be pushing close to 30-40. There is an illusion, but the illusion can't be that massive, surely.

Not sure, probably best not to judge it now, was great to watch on form. Let's see how other bowlers come out of the new reckoning first.

Just got a nagging feeling he may have not been totally honest with the way he bowled in that first evaluation. The sleeve thing doesn't help either.

Yeah, that looked so bad. Even I, having defended the illusion theory a lot on here, was taken aback.



I mean, yeah, it's a still image from a front on angle, but the angle of his elbow was so ridiculous, there had to be extensive straightening before he released the ball, it's just inevitable.

Watching over old videos, I'm not sure why people are saying his action looks the same. It's changed massively imo, used to be much smoother with less pause and only a subtle elbow kink

My god that first delivery says it all. His starting elbow kink is far, far more pronounced, and he stops very noticeably in his delivery stride. These results don't seem that unbelievable to me.

Yeah, it looks a lot worse as you go through his career highlights. Five years is a pretty long time, so it would've been pretty hard to spot if it was a gradual change.

Also, you have to remember Gould didn't report him because he suddenly felt like it. He'd umpired him a lot before so he probably felt it looked worse.
