Congrats to SL for levelling the series. Glad to see thisara scoring some runs and what appears to be a good comeback with the ball also after an expensive first over. Hopefully Mathews will get that elusive ODI tone in the next game and get the series victory for us to boot...

Thisara making a claim to be picked as a batsmen alone.. he did return great bowling figures but I don't think he's likely to be inexpensive in Aus.. but he should be an automatic pick in the team from now on imo.

He hasn't been utilized properly - he comes in with 5 overs left much too often. The big reason is that SL don't really have a big-hitter at the death aside from him, so needs to be persisted. He probably should be moved up to 7.. maybe even 6.

His bowling is the problem though.. still doesn't have much control.

yeah thisara wins matches with the bat, can be handy with the ball but I've always thought there's a case to be made for him to play as a specialist big hitter who bowls a few overs here and there

Prasad bowling beautifully, reckon we should have played 3 quicks at the expense of a batsman or an all-rounder, with the WC in mind only 2 of Priyanjan, Perera and Prasanna should make the best XI IMO
