Hopefully he will pass the retest at Cardiff..interested to find out how umpires will manage his action in a match scenario, if he passes the tests.

If he passes then they have to respect that.

If he passes but then they can see his action deteriorate under pressure (PP/ death) then they'll presumably report him again.

That's my worry, and that's why I think he had trouble with the tests because he was bowling normally but the analysis guys were probably comparing his action to when he was bowling in a pp or something and he flexed his elbow significantly more than usual, probably explains why all his variations failed, and perhaps even why the SL camp didn't pick up on his action deteriorating. We'll see how it goes, but this case highlights the need for in-match monitoring

Interesting selections, Priyanjan and Chandimal probably deserved the nod over Thirimanne who is simply in shocking form, needs some time out of international cricket I think, Tharanga probably deserves a run at the top of the order too. I'm surprised to see Herath there though, would've thought he'd get a rest and either Randiv or Seekkuge would get a game

Well, they did all right in the end it seems, Thisara is going to be hard pressed to find a spot in the side if Priyanjan keeps playing knocks like that, I wonder if we can fit them both in at 7/8 though with Matthews at 6 given we can probably get a fairly reliable 20 odd overs of bowling out of those three plus Dilshan and then 10 each from Kula/Matthews/spinner. Ideally we'd have a decent opener alongside Dilshan and Priyanjan/Thisara could slot in at 6/7 with Matthews at 5 and that allows another specialist bowler, Seekkuge with his batting could come into the equation then

Herath showing his weakness.. When batsmen go after him, he loses the plot. Sena was SL's go to spinner under pressure now there's no one..

Yeah he's very much a middle overs kind of bowler, I think the problem with our ODI bowling is that we are trying to stretch our t20 plan to suit 50 overs, but because guys like Kula and Malinga have to bowl 4-5 overs at the death rather than 2-3 they're being found out a bit, might have to adjust our tactics a little

Dean Jones claiming that Kula should've been bowled out before and not kept for the death overs.. Looks like he never watched the WT20 final and is seeing Kula for the first time..

Not that I'm defending Kula today..

Now he's claiming Pak are known for great chases... based on this and... I guess the Dubai chase.

I dunno, Kula executed extremely well that day but I can think of more times when I've been unimpressed with him than impressed at the death, his pace and natural length is very hittable and he only needs to get it slightly wrong to disappear, should only be given 2-3 overs max at the death IMO

Congrats to Pakistan on a perfectly timed chase.Thoroughly deserved victory for them. I only saw parts of the game today but feel that we should bring Prasad in for Kula(sorry Maximas). Here is a joke for you:despite the tickets already being printed and all set for the second odi in Colombo, the board have announced today that the game is bring shifted to hambantota and brought forward a day also.my family went to great lengths to get tickets like many others and now can't go.FYI the journey time to hambantota is about four hours from.Colombo and its a day night match with no hotels within approx 40ks of the ground..great move SLC ..not.
