Hopefully this awful display from Gambhir prevents any more of these test selections based on IPL form. Dhawan just had to be persisted with. Now there are talks of bringing back Sehwag. Wow I'll break something if that happens.

still reckon the england capitulation to ishant sharma at lords is the worst session of cricket scene from either side this series

Got me thinking about Abhinav Mukund. Don't know about his form in Ranji, so could he be a potential candidate?

England have been 1-0 down after two tests and gone on to win the series only 3 times in their history. 100 internet points for guessing each

India in the 80s?

Nah just checked we were 1-1 after two.

Such a terrible side on paper, but arguably that 84 win was the best of the decade.

I'd looked up 1956 as just checked ashes series. Wasn't going to claim it though.

Forgot 98, was a controversial end to say the least.

Lessons from this tour (which the selectors should have foreseen anyway but are now all but confirmed): Never pick Gambhir (for overseas tour especially), Stuart Binny is not a legitimate 5th bowling option, 5 bowlers a must for overseas tour in order to successfully bowl opposition out in test matches. Ashwin should play on his batting merits alone. Dhoni is good enough to bat at 6 and not make a fool of himself overseas.
