Deserved that. I reckon that Woakes is the sort of bowler that could suddenly take a hatful. Bowling that sort of consistent line at a consistent 84-85mph is going to get some reward at some point. But until it happens it doesn't feel like he's threatening because almost every ball is a pattern repeat.

Any news on Broad, btw? Looking at the replays I think it was a slight top edge that found the gap between grill and peak.

Bad one, anyway.
I don't think the wound is too bad. He may be concussed though which means we might not see him again today.

Glad Woakes got his wicket, nice delivery as well. Think he can be a solid 3rd seamer in a 5 man attack, not going to be a strike bowler but he can give England control after Broad/Jimmy go off. If Finn can come back and take wickets that's not a bad balance to the attack.

Real problem is that Ali/Woakes/Stokes are number 7s with both bat and ball. All pretty good cricketers but none quite good enough with their respective skills to be front line in any aspect.
