Would the Indians' performance be any different if they bowled out England for 270-330? Quite likely. So much time spent on field must have drained them. Especially the bowlers, who have bowled obnoxious amounts of overs per head once more- while Rohit, who bats at six and bowls a paltry nine overs out of a total of 163, throws his wicket away again. Clearly, not good enough to be in the side.

I had kinda thought that Kohli and Pujara were a class above the other young batsmen around the world (Root, Williamson, Rahane, Bravo and can't think of anyone else), but is it possible that they're coming back to join the leading pack?

Kohli hasn't done enough to distance himself from that pack you have mentioned yet IMO. Pujara still a killer though, will average 50+ all his career.

I don't think there was anything wrong with Rahane's composure, the ball was there to be hit and he simply miscued it, Rohit on the other hand had no reason to play the shot he did at the time he did it.

True. It is weird to see them fail so many innings in a row. It's possible that their low patches happen now when the other's happened earlier in their careers so they're all rather equal. It's just that Kohli and Pujara have always just looked best in class since the beginning.
