New Zealand Off Season 2014

Guess he's split with the misses then?

Should be an instant starter, and probable best bowler.

Duffman, Soper, Friday, NcCullum, Wells with the occassional services of Wagner, Craig and Neesham.

Raw attack when lacking test players but not incapable from what I've seen in the vault. They're gonna miss Butler though.

Potentially McMillan and Scott still around too.

"Someone give me a game, just one, oh God please!" - Tipene Friday

Kudos to him for hunting down squad gaps, rather than sitting on his couch hoping for an injury to let him in.
Or not kudos, for choosing the 'find a hole' approach rather than creating one through performance?

Apart from being tall, doesn't have a hell of a lot of other tools.

Agree. I played two games this season and happened to play one of those against Parnell with him in the side - probably the easiest runs I've scored against a guy with first class wickets.... I actually found Roger Twose more difficult to face.

To be fair to Twose, I reckon Friday would probably take a career tally of 133 First Class wickets @ 31 and 160 List A wickets @ 26 right now. Twose certainly knew how to bowl so I'm not surprised you found him relatively challenging.

MCCLENAGHAN DETERMINED TO HELP COUNTY MAINTAIN THEIR PUSH FOR HONOURS

The New Zealand paceman has arrived at New Road and undertaken his first training sessions with his new team-mates.

McClenaghan is available to make his debut in the Rapids T20 Blast away clash with Northamptonshire Steelbacks on July 18 as a replacement overseas player for Saeed Ajmal.

He revealed that he is initially contracted until August 21 but is happy to stay for the rest of the 2014 season if required by the county.

McClenaghan said: "I'm pretty excited. It's a beautiful ground. I've never played here but heard from my (Auckland) club coach Dipak Patel, who used to play for the county, about the great supporters and the ground.

"It's exciting. They are a very young squad of players and to be in the position we are in, in all formats, is pretty exciting.

Craig Cachopa has sign for Sussex as a local with his South African heritage according to Mitch Yardy on tv last night, made his debut for sussex last night.I guess if NZ are keen to raid other countries they shouldn't be sore when countries raid them.
I think New Zealand will cope. He isn't half as good as his record indicates. Better chance of playing for England in the next few years then he does New Zealand

Twose was a partnership breaker, a nice little innocuous medium pacer who could get a bit of drift and often cut it off the wicket. He wasn't challenging if you weren't looking to hit the cover off the ball when he bowled it. He was never an opening bowler nor anyone who would make a side as a specialist bowler - so for a part timer who would've fit our Dibbly Dobbly stage to be more threatening than a young buck supposedly good enough to play first class as a bowler only - it's an issue.

I doubt that's true.

North Division: Warwickshire v Worcestershire at Birmingham, Jul 11, 2014 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo

Both Munro and Ajmal are overseas players in that match for Worcestershire. Same would go for Chops and Yasir Arafat.
