Strauss seems to have been a bit more outspoken in this Test match than previous. Has given some very bizarre opinions, and been very blunt with his opinions, very strange, completely different to how he's been in the box previously. It's like calling someone a **** has given him more freedom to express himself.
You're a ****.

Good evening session but shambolic day really. Is a road and our middle order is still piss. Can't be much keeping Matt Prior in the side (shelling catches, no great form with the bat) ahead of Jos.

From memory it looked like the bowler barely appealed. Dharmasena must be very annoyed at the lack of DRS this series. It'd have got reviewed, reversed and no one would have talked about it again.

To give Dharma some credit he is just reminding everyone he is a terrible on field umpire as well as 3rd umpire. He values consistency.

He made one bad decision, unfair imo. He also had the balls to give Broad out after that.

Yeah probably is unfair, but his 3rd man antics can hardly just be brushed over can they. He was also bad on the field in our home Ashes series.

He's the ump who never looks for a front foot no ball isn't he?

Why all doom and gloom? We're still heading for the inevitable draw, thanks to Jimmy, and Ishant will stay in the team. This Test has been a total success so far.

You have to start worrying about Anderson and especially Broad being overworked. This is a five test series and in the first three days, they've already bowled 35+ overs each on an extremely unforgiving surface and have done a fair amount of batting as well with a lot more bowling to come in the next day or two.

We are not very good are we?
The same epiphany dawned on me this morning too Pothas.
What I loathe (aside from shyteness) is that one can't really see what the end game with this team is supposed to be.

If we are rebuilding and the phrase is supposed to be anything but a euphemism for "more that faintly turd", why are we playing three specialist seamers, a batting all-rounder at eight, no specialist spinner and a thirty-two year old keeper who's out of form and increasingly injury and bollock prone?

Looks more a "paper the cracks" phase than a "transitional" one to me.

Quite so.

God love the beard, but he's not a test spinner's arsehole and Cook clearly doesn't trust him. With some justification.

I hate to indulge in the facile "if one removes a player's best performance they look rubbish" fallacy, but as good as his undefeated ton was, all of his actual test dismissals look a little ordinary too.
