Barring underperformance you'll have no choice over the number three spot for the NZ all time side when he retires

3. Kane Williamson

Dunno - he might have an excellent career, but many would still go:

3. Taylor (with our openers he has effectively been a '3' quite often)
4. Crowe
5. Donnelly

WAGs!

Wagner demonstrating, yet again, why he should never be left out of the team to allow a second spinner. Never.

Wagner at the batsman even if the wicket ball was rubbish. We are back in this and need to concede a lead less than fifty.

I'm slightly meh about Donnelly being in a All-Time NZ XI. Sure, he must have been very good, and it's trendy to include him because you gain respect for displaying historical knowledge, but he just didn't play enough test matches against a variety of opponents to really gauge his abilities.

This applies to Dempster as well, but to a lesser extent, since there is not as much competition for openers as there is for middle-order slots.

Back to the match, that was a crucial wicket at the stroke of lunch. WAGner must have bowled 12 overs or more in that session and we'll need him to keep going until the new ball. Really need Craig to step up. McCullum has shown a noticeable lack of faith in him this morning, and rightly so.

Excellent bowling and energy by New Zealand this morning. Perfect for the surface, especially as the spinner is awful. Shiv's dismissal was a real strangle but Wagner is a 'lucky' bowler, he often gets wickets with bad deliveries. Anyway, NZ deserved that because they had bowled so well.

Lets hope the lower order show some spine for once and somehow get us up to a lead of 50-100. It's important that Ramdin scores quickly in the meantime though. That's his natural game and I always think we bat a lot better when most of the batsmen are trying to be positive.

This was the worst team selection that I have seen in a long time. Even when Australia had Gilly they hardly tried this. Pathetic.

It always amuses me when people who don't understand something put it down to luck as the only explanation.
No need to on't condescend me. I've seen him get a number of wickets with strangles down the leg side and false shots from batsman who have just managed to get through Boult and Southee and decide it's time to make hay.
