My SL marks out of 10 for the tests:
Karunaratne: 6 - combined with Silva to give us a solid start pretty much every time, couldn't kick on and build a big innings but his contribution was very important and he played well for his first tour of England.
Silva: 6.5 - was excellent at Lords, two solid half centuries set up the first innings and then helped save the test, Headingley was a bit disappointing but still not too bad.
Sanga: 9 - Brilliant, fixed his record up, could've done a bit more at Headingley and benefited from some chances, but he played brilliantly and was one of the main reasons we won the series.
Mahela: 7.5 - was good enough in the slips and batted well enough, his 79 was crucial at Headingley as was the first dig at Lords, made runs when it mattered but didn't push on like I'd hoped.
Thirimanne: 1 - took a couple of good catches but completely flopped with the bat
Matthews: 9.5 - played an ATG innings and had another good century at Lords, along with a match-turning spell, captaincy still a work in progress but his rise as a matchwinner was on full display throughout the series.
Prasanna J: 3 - poor behind the stumps and a disappointing first innings dismissal at Lords, gets three points for digging in bravely to save the match.
Chandimal: 5 - was solid behind the stumps and played decently in the first dig, disappointing dismissal in the second innings at a crucial moment though.
Kula: 3 - was able to provide some control, but not enough to make up for his lack of penetration, was a little unlucky to be dropped for Headingley where conditions early on would've suited him, unable to make an impact with the bat.
Prasad: 6.5 - bowled one of the best spells I've ever seen from a Sri Lankan seamer on the fourth evening, but otherwise was very disappointing with the bat, particularly in the second dig with his shot selection, and he proved rather ineffective in the first innings with the ball.
Herath: 7 - maybe I'm a little biased, but I thought he bowled rather beautifully without luck, and his 47 was the best innings he's ever played under significant pressure, he would've hoped to be more influential throughout the series though.
Eranga: 7 - bowled nicely, was clearly short on match practice early on but he found his line and length soon enough and bowled good penetrative accurate spells, he's clearly our spearhead now.
Pradeep: 5 - came to the party with the bat when it mattered, but with the ball he failed to bowl with enough penetration or maintain a good enough economy rate to really nail down a role in the attack, bowled with some nice pace and shape throughout the series though, fitness also seems to have improved.
