Couple more tonight and we may have a slim chance. Still think SL will get over 500 though.
A lot riding on Matthews, our tail goes to pieces if there is no specialist bat to hold things togetherCouple more tonight and we may have a slim chance. Still think SL will get over 500 though.
Keep slagging him off, every time you do something happens.Kula doing a really good job here. Plunkett not quite quick enough to be the enforcer and not quite good enough to do anything else I'm afraid.
Well I've slagged him off about 10 times and he's done two things so I'm not sure thats true.Keep slagging him off, every time you do something happens.
I'm not saying he is the answer but do you honestly think Woakes would have been any use at all on this pitch?Well I've slagged him off about 10 times and he's done two things so I'm not sure thats true.
Agree completely. You can't blame the bowlers that much when there has been no swing and Prior is taking everything at knee height. It is a pathetic pitch. Something has gone wrong somewhere as they wouldn't have picked the 11 + Woakes if they were thought they were going to get a total featherbed.I'm not saying he is the answer but do you honestly think Woakes would have been any use at all on this pitch?
I personally don't think Plunkett is a long term pick but the 11 chosen here deserve to play the next test if only to give them a chance on what might not be a roady mcroad.
Yes the Lords pitch is not good, I think they're often saved by having crap weather around it, particularly in the earlier Test, spices it up a bit, but when it's dry it's god-awful.Agree completely. The Lord's pitches have been ****e going back quite a long way now. They only seem to care about 5 days ticket sales.
Had a God like period until 2012 where he averaged over 70 didn't he?Batting records | Test matches | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPN Cricinfo
Turns out that Bell's been averaging 50+ since the end of the home Ashes in 2009, just a little fact that surprised me.
Jassey likes this post.Sangakkara - Best Modern Batsman? (i.e 1960s onwards ) - He's averaging almost 1000 runs per year in cricket, he's got the highest average (by a fair distance) of anyone with more than 10,000 runs and he seems to be only getting better at a time that a lot of players struggle to keep up their high standards.
Jassy's head just exploded. A double whammy from him - Sanga ton in England and then this post.Sangakkara - Best Modern Batsman?
