Kula doing a really good job here. Plunkett not quite quick enough to be the enforcer and not quite good enough to do anything else I'm afraid.

Well I've slagged him off about 10 times and he's done two things so I'm not sure thats true.
I'm not saying he is the answer but do you honestly think Woakes would have been any use at all on this pitch?

I personally don't think Plunkett is a long term pick but the 11 chosen here deserve to play the next test if only to give them a chance on what might not be a roady mcroad.

I think he'd have been better than Plunkett, yes as he is a better bowler. Plunkett has done virtually nothing apart from ton up with the ball and be the recipient of a great catch after a leg stump pie.

Agree completely. You can't blame the bowlers that much when there has been no swing and Prior is taking everything at knee height. It is a pathetic pitch. Something has gone wrong somewhere as they wouldn't have picked the 11 + Woakes if they were thought they were going to get a total featherbed.

The Lord's pitches have been ****e going back quite a long way now. They only seem to care about 5 days ticket sales.

Yes the Lords pitch is not good, I think they're often saved by having crap weather around it, particularly in the earlier Test, spices it up a bit, but when it's dry it's god-awful.

So you can't judge the bowlers much, but I'm still not liking what I'm seeing from Plunkers, he really doesn't seem to have improved that much, would rather have Finn.

Sangakkara - Best Modern Batsman? (i.e 1960s onwards ) - He's averaging almost 1000 runs per year in cricket, he's got the highest average (by a fair distance) of anyone with more than 10,000 runs and he seems to be only getting better at a time that a lot of players struggle to keep up their high standards.

Haven't seen the game today as was playing, but looks ok for us..hopefully Mathews can get someone to stick with him and get his name on the board too...get us to within 50-60 of England score and then see what Herath can do...

Jassy's head just exploded. A double whammy from him - Sanga ton in England and then this post.

Amazing that before last night Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Kallis and Sanga were not on the Lord's board.

Sanga now can tell those 4 to suck his dick.
