Well done SL, completely deserved.

Competence proving rather too much for England's bunch of dimwits.

Did Cook stir the pot at the end with Angelo? Seemed like the word exchange wasn't entirely friendly - maybe I'm seeing things.

WELL DONE SRI LANKA on a deserved series win. We came back strongly from the drubbing we got in Manchester and took the series despite a lot of people telling us we can never win abroad..great innings from captain fantastic again to get us over the line. I am a little bit disappointed by the reaction of Cook at the end- I am not an expert lip reader but I got the gist - however it is understandable. What the England players need to realise is that if they want a scrap, we will stand toe to toe..you pull the tail of a lion and you won't like the response...
Anyway back to the cricket- well done to England also on done good performances in the series, Jordan has been a real find, tredwell has come good and Gurney has impressed too..

Is Bumble seriously commentating this like its not over?
Might have been taking a lead from AFL comms, who go into the final quarter with a side leading by eight goals but say if the other mob kick the first "it isn't over".

****s me when commentators go the hyped up contest when a game is for all intents and purposes over.

Come on mate, Sri Lanka have rolled over and had their tummy tickled every year since their inception save for 1996.

It's not a lion, it's a tabby cat.

Can't blame Bumble for trying to make it interesting.. it's his job.. and tbf Eng had an outside chance till the last 5 overs..

I hope the takeaway from the mankading is that the umpires stop asking the captain if the batsman is out. Would add an interesting dimension to limited overs cricket I would think.

Interesting result to wake up to, glad we won, also good to see that Thirimmane got some runs before the tests. Agree with most here re: mankad, the batsman is attempting to cheat really, and after a warning there's absolutely no reason to give the batsman another life

Flintoff chimes in:

"Not sure I'll fit into the "modern game" as they call it , maybe I'll be regarded as retro if I behave in a sporting manner ! #mankad"

I agree that mankading is fine (if done legally) but to pretend Buttler was trying to cheat is a joke frankly. He was at most 3 inches outside his crease when Sachti was in his delivery stride.

Based on Mahela's interview, SL had looked at how Eng made 22 2s in 12 overs in the Lord's match, and concluded that they were backing up too much. They were just looking for it this time - doesn't really matter if Buttler was trying to steal a single or not, he was still outside the crease and that's all that should matter. The umpire could've decided that he wasn't trying to steal a single, which would be a plausible decision I think.

Yeah, they probably were backing up loads at Lords. I'm not sure the umpire could do that? Surely if he's out of his ground he is out? Either way now that I know the ODI law is different I have zero problem with it, other than Jos being a ****ing airhead.

It's still an unfair advantage, no matter how small

He left his crease.

I doesn't matter whether that's due to absent-mindedness (which would require a great deal of forgetfulness given he'd been warned twice the previous over) or him trying to cheat.

Plenty of batsmen forget to slide their bats and are run out - their own fault.

Yeah as I've said. Now i've read the rules, changed my underpants I am only angry at Jos so being so ****ing dopey. If he goes on to bat, there is a fairly solid chance we can win the game/series. It was a difficult wicket and we were only 20 short IMO.
