Barrington and Boycott batting together would be some sight.
I know. I didn't ideally want this to happen. At one stage I was looking for an opener and a pacer. Peter Pollock from 40s and Graeme Smith from 80s were my choices. But then Smith went. So I settled with Philander from 80s and Boycott from 40s. I ran out of options.

Strangely, Peter Pollock was not picked by anyone.

You could have taken Cook though. But then again, Cook himself is hardly an aggressive batsman.

I was considering Peter Pollock and Tony Greig in case I missed out on Dougie Walters.

Overall quite happy with my team. The top 5 is dynamic and the top 7 bats overall are quite capable. Mitchell could either be the anchor for the lineup or join in the merriment as he was capable when offered support. The fast bowling attack is just that, all out attack with 3 genuine express bowlers while Laker is a top 5 spinner of All Time who will keep things quiet in between wickets. the cordon and overall fielding (excepting the good reverend) is strong and all the members of the tail have stickability and capable of a few runs while they are there.

Would the home grounds have an effect on voting? I don't think I foresaw my team playing at Kota while picking. :D

After some thought, I have decided to split our 14 teams into 2 Groups of 7 teams using the Randomiser.

The winner of each Group goes straight into the Grand Final. Therefore, there will be 3 voting threads spread over 6 or 7 days. Voting for Group A and Group B will happen concurrently to speed things up. I don't think that scenario will be very taxing. Admittedly, I don't mind our traditional method of voting via a one-off thread, but it doesn't hurt to try something new for a change. If we don't like it then we don't have to do it again.

I will post the compositions for the two Groups tomorrow. Good luck.

(Please let me know if you have any violent objections)

Is it necessary to have the home stadium etc, mate?

Thing is, if I had known I would have played in Barabati Stadium, I would have probably picked my team differently.

I was thinking your asking where people were from was starting to get a little creepy, Watson, but that's actually a nice touch.

Ftr, I'm pretty sure Pothas makes himself at home at the Rose Bowl, and Durham's ground is called the Riverside.

Err, best of the 70s birth is not Tendulkar ? Really ?
lol.
