Just got in to see Alex get his ton, never thought it would come after that 99.

Seems without the catching, we'd have pissed it.

Not a clever last two balls, only 1 and Hales off strike. We are ENGLAND, we can still lose this.

Woohoo. Hales is back. Surprised they picked Mathews for that last over, he's too ordinary to defend 7 off an over - Thisara Perera could have done it if he'd clicked.

Well done to England on a magnificent win and thoroughly deserved. Absolutely fantastic innings from Hales and Morgan. As I said at the innings interval if England win this they will have to have played well and they were superb with the bat.

Well barring rainouts and Netherland surprises that makes the big fixtures straight quarter finals in this group.

Whaddaya know I hoped for something and it happened. Hales is exceptional at this format regardless of his shortcomings in others, easily the best t20 knock by an Englishman.

Yup - one to treasure. Odd that Hales doesn't click in the 50 over version, but maybe there's time for that to change. Either way, credit where due to to a quite magnificent innings and a quite astonishing win.

From a New Zealand point of view I guess we just need to beat the Dutch tomorrow as run rate won't come into the equation now? Then of course beat Sri Lanka.

Morgan's knock will be overlooked but it was him early in the chase who kept England in with a chance.

Poor Bres. Bowling records | Twenty20 Internationals | Cricinfo Statsguru | ESPN Cricinfo Gotta have a bit of sympathy with him and Broad as the two remaining guys who have done the whole winter for England.

Dew playing a massive role in the tourney. Ball was soaked. Certainly helped neutralize the conditions for the non asian teams in Chittagong in the night games. Shame the semis and final are in Dhaka for NZ/SA or Eng.

How great were those Ravi shots against Malinga?

Brilliant from Hales obviously, knew we had won but watching the highlights I was still doubting it at 0/2.

Gotta give credit to England, but I find it difficult to accept this when they bowled and fielded like minnows and yet they still won, the selectors really need to take a closer look at the pitch before they go ahead and pick Mendis all the time, he really has no answer when the ball doesn't turn, batsman can be nowhere near the pitch of the ball and still swing through the line easily.
