to be fair i suppose the dew will make life diffiucult for the fielders but it wasnt England's usual standard today. I really cant say what is stopping these guys doing well tbh-apart from Giles as coach- personally i have never rated him and being a team man and a nice guy isnt enough imho to get the job..i agree with the sky sports commentators here that Mahela should have been given out, howvere hey havent mentioned that Kushal shouldn't have been given out too.
I have a fair bit of sympathy for Giles, having to make a competitive international side out of the pie-chickers, and flat track bulleys that our domestic game produces nowadays. Not to mention the abysmal standard of fielding that we're regularly seeing from guys who make it into the national side. Silk purse and sows ears, and all that.

Turdbach is in the team. As a regular. That alone should be enough reason to have no sympathy whatsoever.

England do weird things in T20. Like how Anderson doesn't play. It was a genuine thing back in 2010, when you could see how everyone else in the bowling attack contributed more, but it's just a parody now.

I can only assume he's being given as much rest as possible from the oneday versions of the game to keep him playing test cricket as long as possible.

England really need something special to win this one, they need to target Mendis in particular IMO

Sri Lanka just showing much more discipline and skill with both the ball and in the field, making it very difficult for the English to get a roll on

One of these two just has to stay in and see it through, or at least close, I do not hold much faith beyond Buttler. Also it's frustrating to see set batsmen get out when chasing a big score in a t20.

That brings it range, a lot will obviously hinge on Malinga but if he does two cheap overs it may still not be enough now.

An over that should have disappeared. Rubbish. Buttler really hasn't done anything in every meaningful match I can remember.
