It's Tough Being Me - The Kevin Pietersen Story

burr

State Vice-Captain
Ugh, such an English move, dropping Pietersen. Sterile cricket. That's the only thing they know how to play, even when they're winning. Massive shame he won't be around anymore, including for the WC in Aus.

Yeah, bravura stuff from Edward there. Up there with Haigh as the best current cricket writer, IMHO.

Gideon turns a better phrase (again, my opinion) but Smith's seamless blending of classical knowledge with popular culture is quite something else.

Springsteen fan too.

Smith, not Pietersen. Think the banging house Ed had to endure whilst next to him on the plane more KP's thang.

Yeah, there's no one else I rather read. Haigh is a great layman descriptor, a lover of the game, but Smith manages to get across his knowledge of the game without talking down to his audience, and without cliche.

Haigh could be writing about anything and make it fantastic. Smith doesn't write quite as brilliantly, but he has more original and interesting ideas about cricket and is great at building a convincing case for them.

yep. he writes the occasional piece that reminds you what a complete **** he would have been as a bloke. but he's the best cricket writer going around.

Whatever it takes!!!
I dont think it was as simple as that.. I understand the Piers Morgan angle but really I just think it is the arrogance of folks like Andy Flower and their unwillingness to change what is wrong with their coaching methods that has caused the Ashes debacle and has now led to KP being dropped unceremoniously. I do think sooner or later he will get back.. That is just how things work in English Cricket..
