***Official*** India in New Zealand 2013/14

Southee's bowling superbly here. Hitting excellent areas with a little bit of shape.

Really need to go to bed though...picking India to be 6 down at the end of the day.

I can't remember the last time I did some umpiring from the bowler's end but I've often wondered how so called elite umpires **** up so much while it is fairly obvious to spectators from the couch (granted) what's gone on. LBs, especially...you'd think they have the best seat in the house to judge lines and height and deviations. Not sure if they are already, but umpires need to be judged for an entirely different subset of physical/CNS-related skills, in addition to a knowledge of the rules.

Another ball change.

Is there actually something wrong with the batch of balls or something, or just NZ try to change it way more than anyone else?

Yeh, I watch every test and L/O international cricket there is and I never said he's not talented i'm just saying he needs to be more consistent and play a long big innings, his high score is 119, playing in India he should be getting big hundreds...

so either

1) the balls around the world made for series involving nz have been terrible since SL 2012

or

2) nz are ball tampering

wonder how long before the umpires click.

Coincidentally the start of Hesson's tenure.

I know I've said it before but Southee looks so much quicker than 130. Last two short balls were sharp.
i think channel 9 used to measure ball deceleration from the hand to the batsman (lee went from like 150 to 135 from memory) and tv should bring it back imo. would be interesting to see if heavy ball bowlers bowl a so called heavy ball because it stays 135 the entire way down.

Poo-jar-a! Horrible series for him out twice to Boult and twice to Southee.
Southee produced absolutely unplayable deliveries to get Pujara and Sharma in Auckland.

I'm seriously astounded by the fact that we've kept Pujara and Kohli to a lesser extent quiet this series.

It's a distinct possibility that the Kookaburra manufacturing process is not as good as it used to be.

I reckon Kohli is a better all round batsman than Pujara. One thing I've noticed is either a reluctance to or perhaps he's just not good at scoring runs straight down the ground. He's quite happy to wait for stuff to put square on both sides of the wicket. Pujara is easier to keep quiet than Kohli but doesn't have the brain explosion tendencies of Kohli.

then wouldn't other countries using the kookaburra have similar issues? and we've played this game in series without kookaburras.

we've either got umpires in our pockets mentally or we're intentionally helping the ball go out of shape, maybe with the bounce throws or a seam pick or something.
