Not exactly related to what ^he said above but some of the most atrocious bowling was when the bowler bowled legside to predominantly offside fields.

OMFG, what a score to wake up to. Went to bed at tea thinking we were in a solid but by no means safe position. Just brilliant that not only has McCullum kept going, but Neesham's made a very, very important contribution after sitting with his pads on for about 9 hours. I don't think India bowled poorly over the course of the day either, it was just excellent batting on a pitch that has flattened out a lot. McCullum WAFG, Watling WAFG, Neesham WAFG. Blocky WTF.

Absolutely no reason to declare overnight - why gamble on undoing all that hard work when we're 1-0 up? Bat sensibly for the first half hour, and if we can get through that period losing only one wicket then let Neesham/Southee/Boult throw the bat for a bit. That would put the game well out of India's reach and also potentially give us time to bowl them out. They'll be ****ed, mentally and physically.

If we lose this, Dhoni will get to 12 overseas test losses. More than Azharuddin and MAK Pataudi who captained notoriously weak overseas sides. Oh, and Dhoni has only been captain for 4 years while Pataudi and Azhar were both captains for 9 years +
Wtf? Dhoni got the captaincy in 2008 didn't he? T20 and ODI captaincy in 2007 and the test captaincy in 08 when Kumble retired. So 6 years actually.

I suspect Dhoni's been kept on his legacy of winning the WC for India after 28 years....countless arguments I've seen in favour of keeping Dhoni are along the likes of "oh he won us the CT and WC...and now you're intent on axing him..."

Nah his legacy is already set. #1 Test ranking, 50 over WC win, T20 WC win in the span of 5 years. Needs to step back and let the next batch achieve things though.

It is. But most of the criticism of him is as a test captain. In the short forms, his captaincy works but it's terrible for the 5day format imo. Just think he's incredibly overrated as a test captain when some call him the greatest indian captain or some **** like that.
Apart from Durban 2011, do we have even one really significant overseas victory? Not a great record at all tbh. And I can attribute his poor captaincy having a direct effect on several of our overseas losses/missed opportunities.

India have let Cook score 294, McCullum 281* and Clarke 329 in the last 2 years. Has any other bowling side conceded 3 triple hundreds in test cricket to individual batsmen in such a short time(Bradman excluded)?

LOL lord almighty!!..this Indian attack is something else isn't it? shocking...just shocking. I hope the kiwis keep filling their boots...because when they come to the Caribbean in a few months time i'm not sure they will have it so easy :D .

The quesion is do the Kiwis have the balls to declare early tomorrow and really stamp their dominance over India? or will they seek to kill the game? Watling seemed to hint at batting for the first hour and then putting India in which i guess would be ok.

Bat on and set some records they have earned it, dont even give india a sniff.
Tbh, im not sure we'll really struggle in the wI, infact im not sure who's got the poorest attack between india and WI.
The strongest challenge will be the conditions.

Mate, try and read Cricinfo as an NZer when both the commentators and every published comment is about how bad the Indians are playing
This is a bit hypocritical. During the Eden Part Test, you said...

India didn't bowl NZ out for 100.

They got Rutherford for a duck, then you saw Fulton play a bad shot, Williamson play a bad shot, Taylor brain explode and run McCullum out. I take your point that the scoreboard read 100 all out but that was more due to NZ imploding than India being threatening with the ball.

EDIT: Oh, just noticed he's been banned.
