Not Terrible
No. The main reason not to do this is so that when the test series starts I won't have to read 1000 ****ing posts about Martin ****ing Guptill. Sick to ****ing death of it.
I reckon Blocky would pass out if it ever happened, so we'd be alright.

Yeah it's really not a great team strategy IMO, unless we have Mills or a Neesham in the team to extend our batting to 9 it just gets too risky.
With this strategy, you're hoping for 320+ with a late surge. If it fails you get maybe 270?

If you go after it from the start you're hoping for 350? If it fails you could get bowled out for 200.

Maybe it's not optimizing your scoring potential, but it is minimising your absolute fail potential.

For all the press Taylor gets for being a great attacking batsman, he doesn't really have a great range of attacking shots - beautiful test player, but he relies on a slog sweep to do anything good

And Anderson being promoted was a good move all in all, give him more strike. McCullum and Guptill getting out so close together after Anderson were the bad moves. But then Guptill has no ability to consolidate at a run a ball.
