Anyone know if de Villiers is going to keep this series?
Looks likely. Seems like they'll replace Kallis with McLaren or Parnell if the media are to be believed which would leave de Villiers with the gloves.Anyone know if de Villiers is going to keep this series?
Is Peterson going to play? Australia will be frothing on him playing.Looks likely. Seems like they'll replace Kallis with McLaren or Parnell if the media are to be believed which would leave de Villiers with the gloves.
Nicking off really isn't a big technical problem for Marsh IMO. Sometimes he backs himself to play shots he probably shouldn't, but that's a shot selection problem rather than a technical problem outside off (which would involve defending with an angled bat, or defending too wide when you could leave, ala Bailey). Marsh's biggest technical weakness is that he can plant his front foot straight down the wicket early when he's playing forward sometimes, which can make him fall over to the off side and be in lbw trouble playing around his pad when the ball moves late. A bit like Watson, but not as bad. Most of what you have said here is total horse**** but you have touched upon the glaring technical deficiency that results in him being a walking wicket against better bowlers when they are supported by slips
Yeah, looks that way. I'd be going four specialist quicks and use Duminy as the spinner and the fifth bowler, but it looks like they'll just go with three proper bowlers, an seam bowling allrounder and Robbie P.Is Peterson going to play? Australia will be frothing on him playing.
Who would be the fourth quick? Is Marchant fit?Yeah, looks that way. I'd be going four specialist quicks and use Duminy as the spinner and the fifth bowler, but it looks like they'll just go with three proper bowlers, an seam bowling allrounder and Robbie P.
Nah he's injured again. They'd go with Kyle Abbott if they wanted a fourth specialist; he'll probably be in the squad but I don't see him playing.Who would be the fourth quick? Is Marchant fit?
Haha he said the same thing about his Shield form last season. It'd almost be believable if he hadn't repeatedly got out the same way he has for entire career.Australia Cricket News: George Bailey's cautionary tale | ESPN Cricinfo
look at this ****ing excuse maker
In general, footwork is overrated when it comes to an individual with the hand/eye coordination of someone like Marsh who I put in the top echelon of pure talents that I have ever seenNicking off really isn't a big technical problem for Marsh IMO. Had a good chuckle at this one, must admit. And 'dubbers, I ask you this because I want to have a discussion about why you think he won't succeed. At the moment all you've said is because he averages poorly in Shield. That's not a reason. Smith isn't going to have a meeting with Steyn and say 'yeah we'll bowl to his poor first class average'.
Levelling the playing field - he knows without giving them tips, his 900 run tour will make the games complete non-contests.Can't believe Smith is going down the KP route and giving tips to the enemy
tour de france is said to be pretty toughThis is going to be the toughest tour for Smitteh to perform on. If he makes runs in South Africa then he's fully fledged.
For some reason I'm quietly confident tbh. When he really knuckles down he seems to know exactly what he's doing these days against the moving ball. Not perfect, but he could make some really valuable runs in an innings or two. This is going to be the toughest tour for Smitteh to perform on. If he makes runs in South Africa then he's fully fledged.
