***Official*** Pakistan v Sri Lanka in UAE 2013/14

A Sri Lankan loss rather unlikely now, one up in the series, well worked from the Sri Lankans, Perera looking to ton up it seems

The only way SL will lose is if Pakistan bat out today and most of tomorrow, and then dismiss SL for a ridiculous 100 range score.

Don't see that happening.Don't see Pakistan lasting around 2 days either.I think Misbah and Younis will fight it out,but they can't give us a decent total every time when the 4 other batsmen do nothing. The most Pakistan can do IMO,is hope for a 'respectable' draw.

Must admit I've been thoroughly unimpressed by Perera with the ball from what I've seen, has done nothing but spear the ball into leg stump short of a length since tea

Looks like his debut will be like Ashton Agar's! Surprised everybody with the bat, yet unimpressive with the ball.

Same as the "world's no 1 spin bowler" tbf though. Wicket tally flatters to deceive.

Rubbish, in the last hour Herath threw some wide of legstump into the rough but he actually flighted the ball and mixed up his length throughout the final session

I can't understand, why Pakistan is at the receiving end in spite of having abundant talent in fast bowling reasonable strength and experience in batting.I don't think Its batting is any weaker than that of India.Younis and Misbah have looked never in trouble at the crease and the openers have also looked good. There are at least 4 fast bowlers capable of bowling at 90 mph.But now they are on the verge of losing a series against SL at home.It is inexplicable

Their batting is terrible. No top order and a tail like a rat. Their #4 and #5 are good, sure, but it doesn't make up for it.

Unlike Ashton Agar, Perera is known to be an able bat and a bowling all rounder. But against Pakistan players, orthodox off breaks will not work unless you are as good as Swann.

I am surprised that P Jayawardena's average is only 31. Looks a much better batsman than that.
He does not repect spinners much. Bad shot selection was a key for that average. And he was not a good batsman to start with. Then he developed his batting. But the **** shot is always round the corner when spinners bowl.

Nah this was true of Agar as well. His record didn't exactly show it yet because he was so inexperienced but he's always been a bowling allrounder coming up through youth cricket. I believe he even had a crack batting #7 for Australia A or Australians in a tour game before his Test debut.

Agar was untested. Perera has 5000 FCC runs under his belt batting on difficult wickets.

With no Irfan, the bowling is slightly weak.Add Ajmal's average display in the first two tests and the we have been without our best wicket taking threat.

Shehzad has looked good which is refreshing to see, but by and large, the difference between our batting and India's batting is bigger than the difference between Angelina Jolie's legs when Pitt walks into the room.
