Bit surprised not to see Stokes in at the new man here. Rankin not looked at all threatening for me.
They picked him in the squad and team, they have to try to justify the selection, it's as simple as that, there's nothing remotely intelligent about what's going on out there ATM.

but my god he looks plodding, you'd almost think he was a nearly 30-year-old journeyman, without a brilliant record in fc cricket.

Hope Haddin gets going here, will be great to watch. Rankin has a target on him I think.

And I'm not sure why Brayshaw thinks we should declare around lunch. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I thought that, but then I looked at Borthwick 8-)

Actually wondering what odds you might get on Bairstow bowling ahead of Borthwick...

Rogers to get out so Mitch can have a crack at tonning up plz

(Assuming Clarke doesn't declare first, which would be a surprise to no-one)

If you can't bowl a team out in two days you don't deserve to win.

At the earliest you'd be declaring with about an hour or less in the day.
Exactly. Tomorrow's as good as a sell out crowd, no threat of rain on the cards, no test to back up for next week. Massive chance for Rogers and Hadds to pile on the misery and make some runs for fun. Bat on and maybe think about having a dip around 5 o'clock if you're still going. Poms deserve nothing less.

Well they didn't at least pick Borthwick for the whole tour. as I say trying to find logic here, is like trying to find humility in Benchy's posts.

the amount of turn and bounce lyon was getting yesterday surely you've got to give your spinner a go, even if haddin will invariably flog him

Yeah, deceptively slow. Ok on the speed gun, but never seems to hurry a batsman. Just putting the ball there to be hit.

Match isn't even half way done, time wise. He'll just bat til they're all out, won't he?

Really can't see why Clarke should declare at lunch. I'd bat until tea or so, really no rush.
My only guess is that they think they've got enough runs and want to go in for the early kill.

But we really should not think about declaring before the end of the day.
