Not won 11 of their last 12 games though have they?

Can't believe we are top given how far back we were a couple of months ago. Long long way to go of course, imporant January coming up, must keep all our players and extend a couple of loans.

As my brother pointed out to me today, United are now hitting a wee bit of form and coming into the period of the season when they're traditionally very strong.

Chelsea worry me, they're ****ing gash yet are somehow only 2 points off the pace.
Yeah Chelsea tend to come good in Spring too.

With Chelsea+United I'm not sure whether to think results will soon better reflect their direness or they have another gear. United haven't even improved that much this past few weeks, they've just scrapped together some results.

Do the fixtures in the second half of the season follow a similar pattern to the first? seem to recall United had a stinking run of games. Could find themselves a long way back again but with the plus side of an easy(ish) run-in. Or could I be talking bollocks.

United had a decent run not long ago when people seemed to think they were back in the title race, I think basically they are not that good and it will show again before the end of the season.

Chelsea you would have thought will improve, be interesting to see if they go all out for a striker. Unless they go and buy Falcao or something then I would still back City and Arsenal to end up above them.

Amazing considering you have changed manager in the middle of that run too.

More importantly, Palace are still outside the bottom 3 despite the loss at Man City. Wouldn't have predicted that a couple of months back. But there are some terrible sides in the bottom 6.

Only 3 of Suarez's 19 league goals have come against teams in the top 13. Definition of a flat track bully. Knew them being top wouldn't last. Back where they're meant to be, below Everton. :D

I do sort of agree, but people have been saying this exact sentence since Ronaldo left. They surely have to improve in the second half-season, it's tradition. And they could hardly get much worse.

Yeah has had absolutely no effect, was definetly the right move once we lost Uwe. The only thing that remains to be seen is how they react when the form dips which is bound to happen, recovery from defeats was one of Rosler's real strong points. Never been more positive going into a new year though, think it is actually going to happen for us this year.

Haven't Arsenal been the strongest in the second half of the season for the last 4 or 5 years or so? At least since 07/08 we've been there or thereabouts

You had a few good run-ins but you also had that hilarious implosion, the one where you conceded a 99th minute penalty to Liverpool right after scoring a 98th minute one.

Arsenal's pattern since the unbeaten year is to have either a good first half-season or a good second half-season, but never both. Chance to buck the trend this year.

We always seem to have a decent run to secure the CL spot after the title is gone for another year.

This is the first season since 07/08 when we've even been a semi-serious shout for it tho.

Coming up to six. We were somewhat in the running in 09/10, but lost the big games in February/March and fell away.

Will be interesting to see how Arsenal handle the pressure as none of their players have been in a title fight in the Prem. Same goes for Liverpool and Everton (if you count them) though at least Liverpool have Gerrard who has won top trophies before. Still think City will end up walking away with it.

Arteta will be fine. He's got plenty of bottle. And the rest of the team might not have title experience but given the importance of Champions League football then constantly getting over the line in tight races for 4th stands the players in good stead.

Fact of the day: November 2012 was the last time Arsenal lost a Premier League game in which both Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker played 90 minutes.
